Pleased to see Ndombele from the start.

No Alli is interesting. Don’t know what to make of it. Looks like he’s off.

What exactly has Toby done wrong? Sanchez and Dier haven’t done anything to warrant starting ahead of him. Not a top 4 CB pairing

Not playing well, although neither has Dier tbh.

Sanchez is a better for this match due to his pace I would say.

Re: Toby, probably just rotation bearing in mind the fixture pile up.

Dele has been pretty crap for a good 12-24 months now. He has no GHod given right to be in the team or squad and his performances don't deserve it.

Additionally, we need some creativity in the front 4 now that Eriksen has left and Dele doesnt bring that.

So he's off-form and not what the team need. I wouldnt have a problem selling him if we got enough to bring in a top, young CB and also got a back-up CF

COYS PUUUTA MADDREEEEEEEEES!!!!!!!!!

Really hoping we'll put in a performance today, lovely to see Tanguy starting but the thing is going to be consistency with him.

Defensive unit need to stop Ings and Adams building a partnership, get them nice and isolated and the rest should fall in to place not withstanding complacency even if Southampton are a bit brick.

I love Alli, I think his ceiling is stratospheric, but he's never been made to fight for his place, this could be the kick up the arse he needs. It should have happened under Poch imo.

100 percent this

he’s been poor for a long time (with the odd flashes) what I really like is he was awful and then dropped.

jose clearly rates him, up to Dele to show.

He hasn't been 'crap'

He has been inconsistent and failed to maintain the high level he established for himself but he hasn't been crap by any standard.

Hasn't helped playing in various roles or playing in a team where 70& of the team have been sub-standard at the same time.

Doesn't have a divine right to be in the team but I really struggle to understand those who are willing to give up on him.

I'm not saying that others havent been crap too, but Dele certainly has

Even if his form improved, we'd still lack creativity in the front 4 so you'd have to ditch one of the wide forwards and bring in a creator, like eriksen was. I dont believe we'll do that so given he's a valuable asset and doesnt really fit our current system (and isn't currently producing) I'd be happy to sell him. I dont see what's controversial with that

COYS!

Somewhat surprised to see Ndombele get his first league start already, fingers crossed, need a positive performance today.

Alli will be interesting to see. Difficult to see him going, think it's more of a statement. Time will tell.

No reason to think it won't be very tough.

After the disappointing defeat at home to Everton in our first match of the season, we badly need a win in this match. But it won't be easy as our away form is so poor now. We also have a poor record at Southampton, having lost our last 2 league matches there. Too bad Bale can't play in this match with Southampton being his old club. But hope other players will be lifted after seeing us signing back Bale.

I’m not giving up on him, I want him at his best, that’s his level now, anything below that isn’t good enough, I feel the same about Kane.

Jose letting people know players are for sale

BT said someone leaked the players unhappy about Dele - I imagine thats Deles camp.

Understand the sense in pairing Sanchez with Dier to give us pace and a stopper.

shame Lo Celso cannot start but a big opportunity for Ndombele, albeit a little odd after mourinho said he’s not ready to start games.

I think there is a deeper issue with Dele, either Mourinho is trying an extreme jolt to get more application for him or he’s being sacrificed to finance our transfer incomings. I think he’s become a casualty of the fact we have less of the ball and his game is not suited to the deep block, low possession hit them on the counter tactic. I hope
he gets a chance to play when we have all our better technical players available even off form he’s more of a goal threat than Lamela and Moura.
