Sergio Reguilón

Welcome!!!

Great to have 2 full backs who can attack well, echoes of Rose and Walker at their peak.
I don't want to gas it up but Reguilon has better delivery especially on the floor than Either Rose or Davies have ever displayed and Doherty has obviously better finishing getting involved in more goals than Walker did. They may actually be better as a pair.

Of course time will tell.

The guy's just really buzzing about being here, judging by the behind the scenes vid - it's also amusing how much he looks up to Gaz, since he's constantly asking him things at intervals in the vid. :p

I think, if he avoids serious injury, he's going to grow in this league to the point where Madrid will want to exercise their buy-back in two seasons.

Our task between now and then is two-fold - win enough, and show him enough affection to convince him that he's better off being the first-choice LB for a winning club in the Premier League than going back to fight it out with Mendy for that starting LB spot at Madrid.

When the fans are back in, I hope he gets a raucous reception burning down that left flank - and I hope that Mourinho can win us enough to convince him his future is here. We're not all that bad a place to stick around at - rich club, in London, in the world's richest, most glamorous league. The two things to push us over the edge into 'will stay here permanently' territory for a player are affection from the fans, and winning the game's biggest prizes.

We have two years, by my reckoning, to do that while he's here. And he's got two years to prove he can be the best LB in both La Liga, *and* the Prem.

Magnificent business to bring this kid in - I'll stick to calling him Reggie, but I think he'll wow us every bit as much as Gareth used to do on the left. :)

Said it earlier (agree with your viewpoint), Madrid will struggle to buy him back (he needs to agree), he feels they fudged him, no love there ..

We do well, treat him right, he'll be here for a while ..

What has he said about Real Madrid?

What has he said about Real Madrid?

Zidane didn't have much time for him (like Bale, James and others), shipped him out on loan and made it clear he wasn't wanted back this season, he also looks up to Bale (think he wants to be the next Bale). This isn't a guy that if he tears up the PL is going to be dying to get back to Madrid ..

Doesn't matter (my opinion), he's seen the fickleness that is Madrid (and they have two RBs in place anyway). Knowing them, they will buy another within the next two years anyway.

Anything can happen, but this guy hasn't been treated well, seen his idol (Bale) fudged over, I just struggle to see a scenario where he's successful here and thinks "yeah, what I need is to go back to where I was treated badly"

He is seen as not a big enough name for them, they will buy the next greatest thing over the next 2 years to replace Marcello, they have Mendy too currently

Never heard anything about Reguilon before. But he is another typical Levy signing, age 23, young and inexperienced. We really need more experienced and established players like Bale. Hope he will be a success at Spurs.

He's a very good player .. this is one of the better pieces of business in the window for any club

He has gone under the radar with the Bale signing but i am really looking forward to see him at LB ( and i say that even though i rate Davies), 23, capped by Spain and named in the Europa team of the season.

I want that long sleeve shirt back, Nike!

Thought Davies did well today. Made two vital interceptions in the first half when we were in serious danger. Sounds like Reguilon offers us a lot that Davies doesn't but Ben still has a role to play here either as backup left back or at centre back where were look ropey.

As i have said i am a fan of Davies, i think he gets some unfair criticism from some fans because he just get on to do the job without the flair that others have. From what little i have seen of Reguilon he seems to be more of a skillfull player then Davies so stands out more, but as you say Davies is a steady player who seldom lets us down and the bonus is he is pretty adapt at playing CB for Wales. I can see Jose using both players going forward>

How long before people start complaining about him appearing in his famous Spanish youtuber girlfriend's youtubes?
