Bale. Could we? Would we? Should we?

For anyone who hasn't seen him in a while, here's a full game from this time last year.

Strange that he started that game on the left... Switched to the right later on and the difference was there to see. Didn't look too bad on the left as a straight up winger tho.

I love Bale, he is the only reason I was interested in La Liga. Having him back feels like he has come home, a bit like Teddy when he came back from Utd. I haven’t been as excited for a transfer for a very long time.

I was stood behind the goal at Uptown Park when Bale scored that last Minute screamer - the guy is a Spurs Legend in my eyes, best player we have had since Ghod.

and from the agents point of view, no harm in other interested parties potentially pushing up the money

I think what Finney said is bang on. Barnett gets what his client wants. Bale wanted to come back to us. Man U were in contact and Bale stated he wanted to come back to us. That is the end for Utd. No competition. So Barnett clearly -clearly- wanted to make absolutely sure that neither us or RM fudged this up.

I was the same today. First thing I checked when I woke. Been on the forums all day. Now on the golf course still checking my phone.

I’m 41, I’ve two kids, I’ve been let down on this stuff a million times like the rest of us. Why am I desperate for some two bit clickbait writing journo to say Bale is going to Tottenham? Why does this matter so much? Why am I behaving like I’m 15 again? fudge knows but the excitement is wonderful.

Allow me.

I am 53.
My finger is hovering over the vaporknit yellow third shirt, which will be ordered with Bale's name on the back the second it is confirmed.
I will wear it with pride and most people won't give a fudge.
But I will.
He has come back.
He said he loved us and he is coming back.
I believe it. I don't want all the details, just the ones which help me navigate this outrageously fudged up time in our lives. And for so many reasons, Gareth Bale coming back will make me happier.
It matters mate because Tottenham are our lifeblood. Yes, of course family and what-not, but how many decades has this club been in our hearts and minds? Don't go too deep into that, because let's face it, doesn't matter.

It is irrational, nonsensical even, but it is beautiful and I am beyond happy that I get to feel this way!

If he signs a one year loan, does that mean we have to go through all this again next year? Hopefully there'll be an option to extend all going well.... I can't take the suspense

Has it happened? Not being flippant, just being a Tottenham fan for 40+ years I can’t get optimistic!

I think all the final, tiny details will be ironed out today. I expect Reguilon to be announced today and Bale announced tomorrow. Friday feels. Milk the good vibes.

You would be amazed just what a fillip this could be for the club. The 'buzz' as they say could be immense. My hope is that it creates a bit more belief, because that has been the missing piece in the jig saw since the 80's in my view.

Truthfully, it is the one move we had left which could make me actually move forward as opposed to grudgingly trudge forward without looking back and wondering what might've been...

Think about the options!

Lloris

Doherty
Toby
Dier
Reguilon

Sissoko Hojberg LoCelso

Bale Kane Son

subs: Hart, NDombele, Davies, Bergwijn, Lucas, Lamela, Tanganga

I mean, you can pick many options (I'd love to see NDombele make it) and I have Sissoko in there just so as we can sing "wake me up before you go go we've got Bale and we've got Sissoko" but in all seriousness, take your pick. Winks doesn't even get on the bench here, and you know he will. Ditto Davo.

I think the biggest loser here will be Dele sadly...but alas, he has to step up.

My one sad feeling about this whole thing is we couldn't get Bale in while we still had Poch as manager. Guess that's the lure of Mourinho.
