Dele Alli

My point is its not just Alli who is missing Eriksen the whole team is, your right Alli was poor so lets get rid of him but while we are at it we might as well get rid of most because they all miss him.

Alli was not the worse player on the field today IMO but the team performance was as bad as i have seen for a while.
I don't know where you thought I was saying we should get rid because of his performance today? I actually said we need to take on board what made him successful previously and see if we can rekindle that or have him adapt his play.

Alli is not the problem, we miss Eriksen and it showed just how much to day. We have no one who can create chances like he did and until we fill that hole in the team we will struggle to make the most of the players we have. Its as simple as that.
What was once a Wanyama sized hole in our midfield has become a Wanyama and eriksen sized hole.
It's a worry that we knew this was going to happen 18 months ago and have done little about it.
Even bigger worry is that we may have a Kane size hole to fill soon.

No i know you were not suggesting we get rid of him ( i probably should have worded my reply better) but i have heard a lot of talk from some who have said/suggested that. I said earlier in this thread that Alli may be a problem going forward because at the moment he does not seem to be playing in a system that suits him.

Not sure how Jose works this out going forward though.

I agree and i also think that if we win something or not this season it will be the last one for Kane, we/he knows he is good enough to play in a team that wins a lot and i can not blame him if he does.

But we have signed a player who apparently isn’t a DM and if he isn’t we have just added another player who ain’t fixing the problem
And we have invested and brought players the managers wanted in that time .., just none that started Today

Well he kind of is if he was only able to achieve that form off the back of Eriksen's performances. We don't have Eriksen now and we may not ever have a direct replacement in style for him. So if Dele can only hit those heights an Eriksen it is something we need to at the least consider.

Do we setup a team to get the best of Dele or does he need to adapt to what we do have?

No its part of the problem but its the problem for the whole team too. Alli still gets important goals, he did last season too despite not being at his best.

Absolutely, we missed him during his last season with us (counting 2019 as a whole) and now he is actually gone, even more so. Dele's movement remains intuitively great, but he needs great players around him too. I hope upon hope he finds true fortitude and receives greater overall support, as his talent remains prodigious.

Such a niche position, only him a Muller play it and Muller plays it much much better.

If he isn't ghosting onto the end of things in not sure actually what he adds to a functioning team. You have to play him in the hope that he scores.

Not that I want him to leave, but I can understand the arguments for why he is in discussion. Just hasn't kicked on how he should have, which stems from him being a more instinctual than technical player.

If he goes I expect him to be replaced and not with just Bale
