Daniel Levy - Chairman

Will be interesting to see how pool fare in a few years time as they havent bought in anyone of note over the last 3 windows and are now getting column inches on the need to invest
True. But they have assets that are worth a lot so, if they want to turn over the squad a bit, they can fund it through a couple of judicious sales.
In the way that Chelsea will also do in future now they've played the system and exploited the lockdown to bank a load of players for future realisation.

Of course but they have to want to sell those assets too

I agree of course and you are right, but the point that others made was that Dubai posted some stats up that he implied made Levy look bad ( no surprise there), as it turned out he had not done his homework by reading through it correctly.
To be fair it was the Swiss Ramble fella that posted an incorrect account of things that made the owners look bad. Can’t really blame Dubai for taking that at face value, especially as the Swiss Ramble seems to be quite respected.

It’s very respected and should be as the guy does a great job
But he is fallible based on how he interprets info like anyone
And of course he is a gooner

having an alternative opinion is not an agenda. likewise some could say your agenda is chumming it up with Levy.

There has to be balance in the opinion of course. Im all ears for both in favour of levy and those that are not ... but bottom line is that we dont have to agree to both be right or wrong.

You can have a difference in opinion but if you misrepresent facts that's naughty

Opinions are just that...
His facts are generally correct
But he does make assumptions too

And posts them as fact

He doesn't do anything you couldn't and read the finances, uses the tag Swiss to make it seem he knows more as it speaks "finance expert"

Rambler is about right

I think they will fare better than we did as they are both a better side than we were and have a more balanced and filled squad in the first place. Age is also less of a concern for their key players right now now, if Toby and Jan had been 3 years younger we wouldn't be needing to rebuild the defense.

If Sanchez was better we wouldn't be so worried about it .

Japhet might help us out here but Sanchez and Dier have this season to stake their claim.

Whilst I have been critical of Sanchez in the past I do think there was a better balance of him with Toby in the run in last season. Dier and Toby see quite similar and I think better completed with a pacier partner, so one of them + Sanchez or Tanganga for me.

yeah agree with this
Toby looked class when he came in with Sanchez
Similarly Dier looked much better too with Sanchez
Would be great to get a left footed CB in

Genuine question - what proportion of CB pairings for top sides in recent years have consisted of one right footed and one left footed? I’d imagine it’s well below 50%? Not sure how much it matters in a back four.

They seem to be about to get Thiago from Bayern - which could be a devastatingly good purchase.
