Everton

Well, that's just like uh, your opinion man....
More he’s underachieved, so far!

I've seen a lot of him (if his play time counts as a lot) for Madrid, often against sub par opponents.

Someone else made the comment, he's still surfing through his career on that one world cup .. amazing

The fact that he took a pay cut to go to Everton should tell you all you need to know ..

More like he had 3 good games in the world cup 6 years ago, where he looked really good and played out of his skin. That was believed to be his level, but it wasn't, and during the 6 years after those displays, he's never put in performances even remotely close to that level. What does that prove?

He had a few good games for Madrid, scored some great goals, never forced himself into a leading role there though.

Everton not to be ignored though, Ancelotti is an exceptional coach.

James is hugely overrated, never hit the highs he should have

Bundesliga 18/19: 20 games, 7 goals and 4 assists
Bundesliga 17/18: 23 games, 7 goals and 11 assists
La Liga 16/17: 22 games, 8 goals and 6 assists
La Liga 15/16: 26 games, 7 goals and 8 assists
La Liga 14/15: 29 games, 13 goals and 13 assists

I don't think that counts as being hugely overrated?

He'll make a big difference for them if he finds form.

I would say his hype is huge, always hs been but he hasn't settled and done it season in season out, his 20 games a season shows that for me, class players play week in week out and his stats are stacked because he plyed for flat track bullies.

He isn't nearly as good as people claim, big name for fans though

Maybe so, but goal involvments in roughly two thirds of the games he plays is going to make a difference to any side.

In an Everton side starved of the ball against better clubs rather than ghosting in the box for Madrid in a 7-0 rout laid on by the class they had?

TBH I am really intrigued to see how he does, I think the term used about coasting earlier is perfect for him, will he roll his sox up and get them same numbers in 30 to 40 games for Everton, if he does I will be more impressed

I like the signing of Doucoure, I think he is a strong underrated player if you can get him in a position where he is in the game more, always though highly of him. And 15m for Jamal Lewis looks great business.

Actually looking at it, 57m for those three looks incredible business TBH, they had a decent core anyway.

Doucoure is like Bolasie to me.... they're both terrible footballers, but because they don't know what they are going to do with the ball, neither does the opponent.

That element of surprise is what fools most players.

Basically what I'm saying is that his legs work totally independently of his brain

Hadn’t followed much football over the summer, but the 3 midfield purchases have taken them up a level for sure. They have a nice balance of guile, hard work, press and press resistance. James Rodriguez? What the fudge is he doing at Everton? That’s Ancelotti for you. Getting him as manager was an inspired choice, especially given the players he can attract.

Yup, feels like a long time ago that a Real Madrid castoff lifted us and if yesterday is anything to go by then perhaps Rodriguez might do for Everton what van der Vaart once did for us...

Thought they were very good yesterday. Really impressive without having dozens of chances or anything. They controlled the game.

Not as enamoured with Rodríguez as some based on yesterday but he could be quality for them.

Always had a soft spot for Everton. Decent football club. Wouldn’t mind seeing them do well as long as it’s not at our expense.

Its going to take more than one game to prove his worth in a lesser side in a ultra competitive league but he had a bright start,

For me I look at a mix of what they did with Saudi Sportswashing Machine and start to think we have missed the boat a little.

Jamal Lewis would suit us, Allan would be perfect in that holding Role and as much as I think he is overrated James at 22m and Wilson would have been a perfect. Add Fraser on a free and I think you are absolutely laughing.

Exactly, despite @nayenezgani amusement, I've seen a lot of James ..

He has ability and if you stand off him and give him time (as we did) he will produce decent stuff, for me, he is brick because he's not consistent, has fitness issues and has pretty much failed since the world cup, one game doesn't change that.

Same reaction Scum fans had with the first few Ceballos games last season .. going to change the team .. blah, blah, blah. Madrid has some of the most overrated midfield players ever with the likes of Ceballos, Isco, James (list goes on, and none of them get regular starts for Madrid)
