Levy’s plan isn’t gonna work without investment and unless he sells a stake in the club it ain’t happening
That then means more attrition and less achievement
The investment when we bought La Celso Ndombele Bergwijn is fine, the type of additions we should be looking at. Of course that level of funding has been squeezed.
But regardless, just as we did with Poch, we need to luck out with a manager, they are the difference maker.
And I don't necessarily mean winning things but getting us looking decent and challenging (ie where we were)

He can but Mourinho isn't asking him to. He seems to favour a ball player at the base of midfield, presumably because they are better receiving the ball from defence.
I’m still not convinced he can. As I’ve said before he didn’t do that at Southampton IMO
And although today I thought he was ok he was everywhere rather than sitting
Compare that with Allan and it’s like chalk and cheese

He did do that at Southampton but he played other positions too.

Club obviously thought Poch was holding the players back and that Jose "Proven Winner" Mourinho would get the team back to their best and wave his winning meteorology wand which would add the missing ingredients to get them over the line.

Some people actually believed it too

And those fans who blamed Loch now blaming players to defend Jose

There was one stage in the second half where Toby gave Hojbjerg the ball, when we were losing, and without looking, he knocked it back to Toby. Toby gave it to him again. Again, without looking, he knocked it straight back. That brick doesn’t work at the upper end of the league.

As John Giles says, your obligation as a midfielder is to get the ball and try to do something constructive with it. If there’s no forward pass on, then and only then, do you knock it sideways or back. Hojbjerg was gutless in that piece of play.

I’m not writing him off by any means but he needs to up his game.

If he’s gonna play like this it’s no great loss.

So easy to mark out of a game because there is literally nothing movement-intelligence-wise around him when Dele is off the pitch. Nothing. We cannot even sign a second striker to give him a break/push/whatever. Might as well get fudging Costa or Deeney in and complete our regression; at least there'd be an option instead of flogging the living brick out of him for fudging nothing (not swearing at you mate, just tinkled off)...

As I say when I saw them he wasn’t playing there
Not sure where he was playing but not DM
They had Romeu abs ward Prowse Doing that role at varying times
It’s not a dig at him but he doesn’t look like a DM to me
Seeing he didn’t start for Denmark scares me too but I dont know if that’s a one off

That second half was awful. We should have been up at half time though but no excuse.

The substitution made no sense.

Calvert Lewin was Tobys man so not sure why Dier getting pelters.

I miss Poch.

Everyone is slating Dier for it. He clearly left his man to make a last ditch challenge because Toby was all over the place. Not Diers fault for me. Thought he was one of our least brick players. @milo, Dier for least brick player in a white shirt today.

I don't see much point in rehashing this. We did it to death before he signed.

Felt for Dele
He was trying but it didn’t come off
Thought it was an odd sub unless he was injured

TBF the players who don’t put the work in look like being the ones who were here before
Can’t fault Doherty and Holdberg today for effort. Lo Celso always pulls his weight and so does Bergwein
A few more like that will help

he’s an elite level player, it’s the same when Barca lose, it’s always Masai’s fault

yes he can be part of team goals, but look at his highlight reel, his greatest moments come from nothing, him picking the ball up deep or by the touch line, getting into space, defenders bouncing off of him before he smacks it in at 100 miles an hour from an impossible angle, that’s what we need from him
