Tanguy Ndombele

I don’t think either starts today and maybe one mid week
Today he will IMO play PEH with Sissoko with winks in reserve to come in when we need to keep the ball

You're probably right...though we need to get them fit somehow!! And if Tubby really is putting in some more effort in training, then it would be nice to see him rewarded with some game time so that he feels the effort is worth it

He needs a few weeks of that IMO to get his chance
Jose will give players chances. He has to now with the games coming thick and fast
And there has to be a point where Tubby has no more excuses

Good signs with the quotes from Mourinho, saying he’s working harder than ever and that he has huge potential. Will be like a new signing....

Definitely encouraging quotes. I also like that he pointed towards him keeping that up being key.

If we can get him up and running physically, mentally, doing even an adequate job defensively he can be a real game changer this season.

It's a fresh start, a new season, I'd expect nothing else but positive/constructive quotes from Jose about any of our players, especially ones who he (or the club) were minded to move on but now, for one reason or another, look like staying around. The schedule looks barbaric so it's all hands to the pump.

Alienation is only a press conference away, fresh starts only last so long under Jose, he doesn't wait for no man. So I expect him to say just what he has, at this stage.

If a 55m player does not start opening game of season at home after time to get fit then there are issues, huge issues.

Reason is, if all was right a player of Ndombele ability walks into our side at the moment, if this lad can not, whats the point?

Bit early. His preseason has surely been impeded by covid, and he's barely played.

Let's wait to conclude about huge issues until he's had some real minutes this season.

He should have had a greater benefit, hardly played last year so should be fit as a flee and ready to hit the ground running.

Also as someone who started last season on same level field as others why would Covid affect him more than Sissoko or Winks?

If we are not inclined to play talent at home in a fair season opener in an area he is needed then when is he going to be ready.

Far too many excuses for a 55m player I'm sorry

Don't recall seeing that Winks or Sissoko tested positive for covid - you got a link?

But then who does the Sissoko hunting down the wing? I wouldn't be surprised to see Dele or Dier partnering Hojbjerg. Or Winks if considered fit.

That was a rumour from the French rag and he has been training so I suspect based on his access to others in the squad and his ability to train his symptoms were mild at best.

We can make another season of excuses for him and he can eat up another season of his contract

Even if everything pass didn't work out he looked a class above the rest of our midfielders when he came on today. Did some closing down too...

This guy is beyond talented and looking at us out there today, Jose needs to get a tune out of him. Lo Celso is the only creative player to come back in and he won’t play every game and he isn’t quite Christian Eriksen (although GLC brings a lot Eriksen doesn’t).

Ndombele was our only player capable of linking forward passes. Apart from Kane.
If we don't play him, nor Lo Celso, we clearly don't have a proper link from midfield to attack.

So with Lo Celso out, seems we need to fit Ndombele behind Kane and Son. And pack the rest of the team with the clodhoppers in a 4312

Pretty much this. We just need someone who can actually pass a football forwards on the pitch. Then Sissoko and Winks can skate sideways as much as they want behind him.
