Transfer thread

Judging by Mourinho's past , he wants a bully boy type of No 9. See Drogba, Costa, Lukaku etc. Hence the Giroud link in January. We need a Llorente type - only better!

This, to the point made by earlier posters

- We need a focus point for our attacks, even if that striker isn't prolific, it allows the many AMs we have to still play their natural game and not fudge up the balance of the side.
- I also think Jose perfers the outright striker in side vs. Poch (or even Pep) who will go with AMs in that role on occasion.

I think it might be Jimenez still. There were links way back and that new Wolves wonderkid will be expecting to start. Besides all the other options seem to be disappearing pretty quick
I would love to, but Jimenez is a top class striker, and would be €50m+ if he's got anything more than 1 year left on his contract.

Runs out in 2023 apparently.

But factor in Jorge Mendes, COVID hit to club finances... maybe he goes for less than they would have done a year ago, similar to Doherty perhaps.

There are some straws your clutching there :);)

their not selling him for anything less than a very big fee which TBF is reasonable considering their position and his performances

guy is class and wouldn’t leave to go anywhere that isn’t a real step up

Not a fan of the principles of rehabilitation and punishment for a crime being balanced and appropriate?
Also, Lloris counts.

I think if you're convicted for an assault where you repeatedly kick someone who has fallen in the head, you're a clam and I don't want you around my players.

"In the 30-second video clip, the pair could be seen kicking out at the "defenceless" students, one of whom received repeated blows to the head as he lay injured on the ground."

Also apparently very big clubs with first dips in Europe, we have no chance with him

Yeh like him or not he loves a strong striker to hit long or to bully to bring in the pace around him, always has. No doubt he tried to play Kane that way at times already.

I def see us getting a target man bargain for this reason...

Linked to player after player... and in the end Jose will say: Im happy with the squad. We always expect the signing we need.. and in the end some brick stops the transfer on the last day...
