I was no means a big fan of manc bands / singer songwriters but Ian Brown....Morrisey.......Not done great recently have they? Add in the Oasis brothers who were always massive bellends from the off just minus the inspired and fresh music to accompany.

Edit - Fair play to John Squire to calling out Ian Brown there. What a guitarist too.

It's Squire and Marr keeping the likes of Brown and Morrisey down to earth that makes the bands.

The primary role of us guitarists is to stop all the attention going to the singers and ensure they know it's not all about them.

You just put Morrissey in the same sentence as Brown and Oasis? There was more talent in the dead flower in his pocket, than that lot put together.

Musically the Stone Roses debut is remarkable, and depends on if you’re in to that era. The 2nd is an x y with the sides being “narcotics against “slight potential for enjoyment”.

Morrisssey is probably a hero if you often find yourself writing melancholy poems in the chilled aisles of Tesco’s, the horror.

I won’t even start on Oasis.
