Youth Players/On-Loan Thread 2020/21

https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2020/august/loan-round-up-first-goals-for-eyoma-and-parrott/

TJ Eyoma scored his first senior goal in Lincoln City's 4-0 pre-season win over Sclamhorpe United on Tuesday.

TJ, who rejoined the League One outfit on loan earlier this month having previously been with the Imps in the second half of last season, converted the third goal of the game at the LNER Stadium. The defender put in a 66-minute shift in his second pre-season appearance having also started in a 1-0 loss to Salford City.

Troy Parrott was also on target on Tuesday, scoring his first goal for Millwall in a 5-1 pre-season win against National League side Bromley. Troy fired home the second goal of the behind-closed-doors encounter at the Lions’ Calmont Road training ground.

Oliver Skipp is up and running at Norwich City, playing 45 minutes in pre-season encounters against MK Dons and SC Veri in Germany. In his first appearance, 'Skippy' entered the fray at half-time with his new team-mates 2-0 up against MK - and they went on to win 6-0. Then, on Monday, the midfielder started as they kicked-off a week-long training camp with a 0-0 draw against SC Verl.

Just seen that Brandon Austin is in the England U21s squad - good effort from him

I always thought that Whiteman was meant to be the better prospect, though they're 21 and 22 now so getting to that awkward age where it can be difficult to get proper football. Can play for the U23s this year, but then there aren't many teams in the football league with a 23 yr old keeper

I wonder whether we might promote one of them to third choice if we sell Gazza. Austin spent last season on loan,so there might be sense in promoting Austin and loaning Whiteman.

Agreed, thats what I'd do. Hart is fine as no 2, and third choices very rarely ever get on the pitch. I think its a risk worth taking. Sell Gazza and use the funds and wages freed up elsewhere. If Hart or Lloris got some horrific long-term injury which put them out for a year, then we could always try to find an old stop=gap somewhere (ie another Vorm)

Carlisle legend Jimmy Glass might still be available and also willing to sign up long term.

Yes, you’ve guessed it.

Its that time again.

Because....

Vorm is temporary. But Glass is permanent.
