Black Lives Matter

They're liked ....... It's all terrorism, whether it's haranguing people on a night out - Maxine Walters style, or physically attacking people and burning people's property, it's all terrorism.

I can’t see a single black face in that lot, idiots hijacking.

it’s all about trump, they don’t care about BLM

A video from slightly earlier showed black protestors shouting at the white woman and then an organiser of the 'protest' (a black lady) asking for them to back off and have white protestors come forward.

So Sports in USA are looking to boycott the rest of season in certain sports - mainly basketball at the moment.

I’m really not a fan of mixing sports and politics - which I get might not be a popular view.

The problem with getting the message to all is those that are not racist already get it and those that are won't care. Cynical but true in my opinion.

Brilliant, something that should have been done years ago. 4 years to the day since Kaep took a knee it happened.

Sports and Politics are intertwined whether people want it to be or not. They're not seperate entities, from the Sports we play to the funding to the management levels it's politicised.

This last part isn't aimed at you, but when people say they don't want sports and politics mixed, it's usually "I don't see it as a problem so why should it interrupt my enjoyment of sport". Well, it is a problem for some, and some of those play sport, so let's use that platform.

The other way round. Those who are not racist wont mind those who are will be annoyed, is my take.

Personally if they voided this season of football i would be gutted and have to find something else to do with my time. But if they had a clearly defined set of laws they wanted implemented i could support them if the laws were good laws.

I heard about the high percentage of black deaths in police custody in this country something i was not aware of. If one of the demands was a public enquiry after every black death in police custody i would support it. I want to see the meat on the demands not just talk. But im open to the idea of real change. I like radicalism if the point to achieve and not just for the sake of it. It is why i liked so many of Corbyn's ideas.

I think most people support aspects/all of BLM and accept there is a problem.

My issue with mixing it up with sport is the precedence it sets

if a set of players down the line want to support another political point why should they be stopped? - pro Israel etc

I prefer when the PL has match days for it - it doesn’t have the potential to alienate Players/coaches etc and it highlights it more and there is some control over it.

plus, these guys are millionaires - they can just skip out with no consequences - if the league gets abandoned - how about the staff that could potentially lose a job?

The ones who will get annoyed are those who 'only' care about the game.

I am sure even those that are not racist miss the game and some would prefer both to be separate

its why you see black sports professionals not taking the knee etc, the symbolism to some conflicts and in reality does less than people believe

At the end of the day I would suggest working class men standing shoulder to shoulder would work more than black sports stars who have made millions from the game and can afford the week off would be more impactful,
