cars

I've been near them on track, I've seen plenty of videos with them, etc. Until yesterday I've never stood next to one starting up - it's fudging breathtaking when it does.

Can I assume your entire street hates your neighbour when he has an early start?
He walks to the train station, so we only hear the roar at weekends and even then it seems to be only occasionally nowadays.

So much more melodic that those pesky phat exhausts that youths seem to love loudening their hatchbacks with.

I wouldn't mind being woken by the sound of a V12, but I can see why some people might be.

Someone once described leaving an Aston in the garage and doing next to no miles in it as being like not sleeping with your girlfriend to save her for the next man.

Having just returned from the fudging awful hole full of brickclams that is Centerparcs, I think I'm going to go for the Rapide.

Last week just confirmed for me that the last thing I need is boot space. Hopefully my inability to bring much in the way of luggage will dissuade my family from such silly ideas as attempting to holiday in places where relaxing is impossible.

The V12 has been around for a long time now so the teething issues are ironed out.

The V8 is the same unit used in AMGs, so it's it's absolutely bullet-proof. But it's not a V12 ;)

Like any smaller/exotic brand, servicing will cost more and parts will too. But if you stick rigourously to the service schedule you should be fine. I tend to do an interim oil/air filter change if I've been driving my car hard as well.

On a Rapide, pads and discs aren't cheap but they're not much more than I'm already paying. Fuel is a consideration but I only drive around 6k miles a year now. They're not a brand to go for if you like cabin tech, but who wants to drive along watching YouTube when you can listen to the roar of a V12?

A dream.
Nothing else to add to your stellar opinion of this creature.

You have my deepest sympathies. No-one should have to deal with that. Still, you did your duty as a husband and father, and I trust there will be some reciprocal activity on your part as reward/mitigation for such horror.

Taking my son to Sandown for some bambino karting again next week - hopefully get him into more reasonable hobbies.

I used to take my son karting but all he wanted to do was play tennis, admittedly the girls he used to bring home from the tennis club were of a much higher standard than you get at a karting track, but even so

Get the convertible and no more boot space issues!
