Champions League 2019/20

Mr Pochettino you're time maybe about to arrive

I really think this would be a horrible time for him to take the Barca job. Wherever he goes next, he has to win a trophy because that's a big monkey on his back. They aren't in good shape and if goes a year without a trophy, the vultures will circle.

There is a massive rebuild needed. It'd be bigger under Poch because his model needs young, hungry players that'll run through walls for him. Suarez, Messi, Pique, Busquets etc. may not fit into that. Getting rid of them is bigger than a football decision because they're the face of Brand Barcelona, particularly Messi.

They are also struggling financially by all accounts in a country ravaged by coronavirus. Will they spend big and can they spend big? They apparently have a stadium refurbishment planned that'll cost a 9 figure sum.

At every defeat, he'll be reminded of the "I'd rather farm than manage Barca" comment.

I think it'd be a terrible job for him right now but if he takes it, I'd love him to do well because I think the guy deserves all the success in the world.

I believe Pochettino is man to his words. He's said he'll never manage Barca, because he is Espanol. Likewise he's said he'll never manage Arsenal, because he is Spurs.

I think the funniest part of the Barcelona result is that their most expensive signing (out on loan) scored two against them.

i hope you are right. otherwise he will look spineless imho

Didn't Jose say he'd never manage us when he was at Chelsea? I wouldn't call Jose spineless.

Poch is an emotional sort and I'm sure he meant it at the time. But he got a very harsh lesson in how ruthless a business football is. Maybe he's got a bit more hard-nosed which might be no bad thing.

I still hold Poch in higher esteem the Jose who is your basic scumbag! But he’s now ‘our‘ scumbag!
