Black Lives Matter

So I am guessing you'd have been OK with "...at the hands (sic) of white, Latino and Asian police officers?" I am genuinely trying to establish which parts of the phrase make you unhappy. Is it the "white" bit?
Welcome to a world where black people always get their skin colour called out and are often misnamed (i.e. African American when that is not nearly always accurate).

If this really did offend you, then I think you're looking for it. My opinion.

Why not say " At the hands of police officers" because that was the truth.

What do you mean by set up and organic action?

Well the video is a set up, although one to highlight huge issues its definitely a set up hence why its being filmed.

I am not taking away from it at all just to be clear, like I said it does not take away from how upsetting the whole thing is.

Mate.
He wrote a sign, stood there and filmed some responses. Personally I would not define that as a "set up" which implies "created"...

So if it's being filmed to highlight the issue to a wider audience it's set up?

Still wondering what you mean by organic and why things that are "set up" fall outside of that.

To me it just looks like activism. Perhaps even quite effective activism.

Intuitively I feel like I understand what you mean by organic, but I fail to see why filming stuff makes an act fall outside the scope of that.

Hahah what a joke

So the Guardian run a story on Wiley and under it has a message which highlights a huge racial booboo

That photo's almost as old as the song.

Dude I now know that you are a much better guy than you often show on here.

And in fairness your response to issues of racism is often relatively fair.

But with stuff like this, just condemn it. No need for anything else.

You are much further right than I am. But let's not get in to teams where we defend far right from far left.

Let us meet in a middle ground which had been lost in modern discourse.

It's entirely wrong.

But it's neither news nor a current issue. It was dealt with (as well as anything can be dealt with when there are unions involved) years ago.

Yet another example of people reacting to social media without taking the tiniest bit of time or effort to research the issue.

I have no idea how people are reacting to this on social media now.

You say dealt with, but I'm assuming you mean the particular guys involved. The bigger picture question is to what extent this is still the case and those involved have just gotten slightly better at hiding their views.

It's a reminder of something that happened in not exactly a distant past, at a time when questions are being asked about what's currently going on. I don't think that's out of place, though if social media does a poor job "reporting" on it that's unsurprising.

You are 100% right in what you are saying but Scara also has a point, I think what is sometimes lost on here is that two people can actually be right with a different angle of how it should be dealt with but want the end goal.

Im uncomfortable with the “Right” label
Coming out when people are just highlighting a fact rather than a right winged opinion, especially when that person has on several occasions said that racism is absolutely unacceptable.

I have a feeling people see the handles of the author and make a judgement before reading that’s on the post and the content of the post often becomes secondary and ignored.
