Hugo Lloris

He’s been pretty flawless in the last few weeks. He had one dodgy moment today but he’s looking much more solid and more like the goalkeeper we had for his first 4-5 seasons here rather than the error prone version of the last 2-3 seasons.
The dodgy moment was a really odd one, he basically flapped at a ball going wide to bring it back into play! I wonder if he lost his bearings or thought an attacker was behind him.

I’ve been a big critic, even before it became fashionable but he’s been mostly excellent since the restart, maybe he needed a mental rest - his kicking is much better too.

Statistically he was one of the best keepers anyway, his mistakes highlighted by fact they were so rare.

He was insanely good in the CL last year, off the charts.

His decline has never been as bad as people made out

I don’t know, people have short memories and forget some of the awful blunders he made when Poch was still manager until November. One of his mistakes led to his injury at Brighton! He’s had a difficult couple of seasons but he’s been much better since the restart. I’d be happy to continue with him provided he maintains this level we’re seeing currently.

I think he has gone through that difficult late stage in his career that a lot get. I expect him to be steady for the next two seasons.

Must have been hard to be the world cup winning captain and then come back to league football.

I would say he has made the odd mistake not had prolonged periods or seasons of struggles.

Sky did a fantastic analysis on him being the best keeper in the Premiership over the course of his time here consistently distorted by the fact his mistakes have come
In high profile games but they don’t tell the full picture

“It might then come as a surprise to some that there is no goalkeeper in the Premier League who has saved his team more goals since Opta began collecting their expected-goals data in 2013. Lloris not only stops the shots that other goalkeepers do not, the analysis reveals that he has done so consistently throughout his long Premier League career”

“The majority of his mistakes are not A typical goalkeeper errors as these come from his feet and being asked to play out where he has had to attempt 1000 more passes than his next rival”

Looking a lot better since Jose has asked/told him to stop chipping the ball out, seems to have stepped up over the last few weeks. When we used to play around at the back he got into far to many poor decision making which can not help with confidence.

Like was in the report I read he has had to distribute short balls over 3000 times in his years here, 1000 more than anyone in the same period.

He’s been bloody brilliant since the first lockdown. Really solid. Think we saw in the documentary why he’s captain too.

He goes under the radar at times, had a poor two years but is now showing why he’s unquestionably our number 1.
