Juan Foyth

If we let him go, a sell-on clause should definitely be included.
There's a serious chance that a few years more will see him well established in a good side if he's had a sustained run of games and a manager showing belief in him coupled with the coaching he needs.

I'm with you. I'd keep him as one of two RBs (alongside a new signing) and sell Aurier and KWP. I think he has very good potential to be a RB in the mould of Corluka, Ivanovic, Azpulicueta etc i.e. a RB who could also play right-side of a back 3 or CB.

If you sign Castagne (say) and sell Aurier and KWP you can hopefully make a profit to put towards other areas

He's essentially been one of two right backs this season. Injuries have been a factor, but he's not gotten a look in at all after being dragged off at half time against Norwich. That came after drawing praise from Mourinho in the Bayern game.

Mourinho quite simply doesn't rate him I think. Can speculate about the reasons, but the conclusion seems difficult to avoid.

I struggle to see a scenario where he's here when the window closes.

He is another one that loves a mistake - either diving in, switching off or playing an appalling pass

maybe a loan is better, but If we need to raise funds sell.

I sort of like how quickly Jose makes a call on a player.

I'm happy to let him go, as I think he's on of the few players we have on our books that we can let go and get some money for. Players like Sissoko, Rose and Lamela might go, but I'd be suprised if we made more than £20m combined for the three. If we need money they I'd want a straight sale.

A loan to buy deal seems redundant atm as the market is down. £15m now might be £25m next summer so we'd be stupid to undervalue him unless Jose has lost all hope. What Foyth is saying sounds more what like Bale and his agent have been saying about Madrid. The player is happy, committed etc, when what they really want is for the club to make concessions in order to get the right deal.

I would keep him as well, he has made mistakes but he is only 22 and trying to adjust to a completely different game here.

His problem is much like Aurier he overrated his abilities on the ball and in the challenge making him either walk himself into trouble or go for tackles when it is wider not too.

A shame it hasn't worked as I think he is a genuinely talented player but one that requires a decent amount of coaching to round out his mistakes which are all in his head.

I do understand what your saying, however i do not think he needs a lot of coaching to stop his rashness at times, as i said he is only 22 and still and has a lot of years in front of him. If Jose decides he does not want him to stay fair enough but i have not seen anything to suggest that except a lot of flimflam transfer talk.

Perfectly summed up. His age isn’t relevant, he’s old enough to know better and to make better decisions which he doesn’t.

I think that it is entirely relevant, it is a position where often takes players time to mature and settle. I also think that it is relevant to consider that he's been in and out of the side, has played different positions and hasn't been part of a settled defence.
