*DISCLAIMER:* If you're coming here to argue about how much better Android is or why Apple is just marketing spin, don't bother posting.

Some pretty tasty stuff coming out so far. The new MacBook Pro with Retina Display looks nice. And the Air has 512gb flash memory! It might be a serious option for me now...

Siri can now tell you sports scores, but probably just for Yank sports.

I enjoyed this part:

"iOS 6 adding English and French for Canada. Scott says, "Eh", crowd laughs."

...is anyone else interested in this? 8-[

:tumbleweed:

I think Blackberry is better than Apple and Android products.

(You didnt mention Blackberry so im assuming im allowed to say the above)

The passbook is a bit big innit?

Is WWDC a showcase for new apple products? never heard of it.

I am lookin to get a new mac laptop but i just have a feeling somethin new will come out soon

It stands for the Worldwide Developer Conference. Apple generally release some big things there. They announced new laptops (very good ones, now is definitely the time to buy one), some more information on the new Operating System for the Mac (Mountain Lion) and the new version of iOS for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Are we going to get the IP5 this year? I'm due an upgrade now, if they don't hurry up, I'm going Samsung

Google Maps are being dropped as Apple bought some mapping companies and created their own solution.

IOS 6 is due out in Autumn so IP5 will be at same time I assume.

Have to say I read an article on IOS 6 and didnt seem anything earth shattering in there really and given most updates are software these days as hardware isnt improving as fast as it once was to the end user.

I think iOS6 is a major upgrade. So many little tweaks to things but also some major things like maps with turn-by-turn navigation, Passbook and Siri. The new phone app looks cool too.

Isn't it free on google maps though?

Passbook sounds rubbish me to, isnt it just an app that updates things like your flight details e.g. updates with the gate etc? Like I'd just sit at an airport looking at my phone waiting for the gate. I'd rather use the dozens of screens that are purpose designed for that.

Nothing ground breaking, just a good old polish up of the current OS. Still missing a number of jailbreak tweaks it could do with (sbsettings, callbar etc).

Google Maps isn't turn-by-turn. Turn-by-turn is a strange name but it means more like TomTom etc.

Passbook is much more than just flight updates, it carries your tickets, store gift cards and things like that. As spooky said nothing earth shattering but good solid features that make life easier.

As far as I know, google maps is not like a TomTom. Does it speak to you, give you traffic updates etc? Genuinely asking because Google maps on the iPhone at the moment is not turn-by-turn like a TomTom. Its the same as the website so I'd expect it would be the same on Android.

Yes. The traffic is live too.

So your journey time is constantly updating

You can also see problem roads highlighted red to help you avoid traffic

You can see the features here:
