Jose Mourinho - SACKED

I don’t think people are asking for him to be sacked they just call it for what they see and it’s dire at the minute

He isn’t the sole blame, far from it, but he is neither free from any blame
The shades of grey that are so often lost in today’s society. Well played sir...

So given this is a Jose Mourinho thread, let's ask this:

What have you seen under Jose Mourinho that makes you feel positive for next season?

* This is not a dig at Jose or anything, as i mentioned above i would love to see him succeed at Spurs, but i haven't seen enough under him to see him transform us in the way that is required. I'm actually looking for positivity here so please share!

Well it looks like the defence now know what their doing again

It looks to me like to me that the team have actually started to understand the coaching they have been getting that way. And I don’t think the defensive coaching is Limiting our Attacking, but the players are Probably thinking constantly about what their defensive position will be whilst attacking. It’s hard then to think about your attacking role when you have other things going on in your head.

i saw Moura chasing hack yesterday from right wing which is great but it also me st he wouldn’t be available for the attcking need

Any talk of sacking is embarrassing to be honest. The guy has had six months, no pre season, no summer transfer window. Any manager would deserve better but especially one that has his record. Anyone who is seriously suggesting we sack him obviously has an agenda but whether you like him or not as a person, he consistently delivers success.

Well said, you know it, i know it and most fans i know feel the same way. Sadly we have a bunch of fans who for whatever reason ( most of them dislike Jose i would say) can not wait to jump on his back.

usually i'd agree, but like i said i've seen little to give me comfort Jose is the right man for the job.

Arsenal, despite still not being anywhere close to a finished article, appear far more sturdy since Arteta came in than before. Certainly on the attacking fluidity. Ancelotti has improved Everton and again, seems to be making a blueprint or vision for the future.

It seems we're a counter-attacking team, but at the same time, it's a bit square peg/round hole. If i recall yesterday we started with Bergwijn, Kane, Lamela and Lo Celso (with Son and Moura as substitutes) and we had zero shots on goal.

So what's the Plan B if evidently our players can't utilise Plan A well?

Arsenal were in crisis a fortnight ago according to the media. They are one point ahead of us in the PL.

If Everton’s game against us was anything to go by then they are in worse shape than we are.

All those teams have a solid defence - and a play maker - Liverpool won nothing till they realised they had to firm up at the back.

the problem was we were brick going forward and brick at the back.

cant solve both at once in the time he’s had

That makes sense to me, all really good teams are strong at the back ( which we have not been for a long time). Good managers/coaches know that to have any chance to be a winning team then you should build from the back, there is no doubt that we are getting better in that department and it shows.

Sadly we still have not got the DM that sweeps up the early danger before it hits our back four, ( that has to be a priority this summer) once we have that sorted we can move onwards to sorting our front play. We have been such a mess as a team for over a year and it CAN NOT be sorted out in a few months.

Any manager who takes that job on would struggle but we must build up from the back forwards.

Don't play dumb mate - there's needing to spend in order to win and there's spending hundreds of millions more than than the teams you're competing with and then using the success as proof that he's still relevant as a manager
He didn’t spend more than city at Chelsea 2nd time, and I’m not sure if he did at United (haven’t checked in either case)
Chelsea 2nd time to me was a case of actually managing a change and improving the team with minor tweaks (and yes they did cost money)
He changed that team 2nd season with costa and Fàbregas and won the league
Yes the players cried foul a year later but the same team won the league again that he built

When he got the job, I expected two things. 1. The players wouldn't look as good as under Poch. Few can get such strong performances out of average players as Poch can. 2. We'd be better defensively.

Although I'd take Poch back in a heartbeat, we have to be realistic. Mourinho will get us defensively sound, then try and sign some players who can give us attacking spark.

The key for me - since last summer, even before then - has been the midfield. We need more quality in CM, then we need time and patience and to rebuild.
We have quality in midfield Jose doesn't like selecting it. [emoji58]

I think we need a diamond midfield with a DM to protect the centre backs. We will then have Lo Celso and Ndombele either side of the diamond and Dele at the top. The only issue then is that we have a cluster of attacking wide players who will no longer be as effective. Where would Bergwijn fit in that formation? Son could be used as striker with Kane, but is Bergwijn an option there?

Defensively, we need to bring in two full backs and a centre back. But who? And with what money?

For me, those are questions that Mourinho will have to answer if he is to be successful going forward with us.

I think Bergwijn could play in that formation ok, one of the forwards still needs to move wide.

I think that's what Poch had in mind. But you're gonna need some stellar full backs to make that work.

I might become obsessed with this idea.

I want Vincent kompany as our new manager. He can be the new Messiah. As i know journos read my posts im going to keep saying it till it is printed in the paper. Then Levy will read it in the sun while eating his shreddies in the morning and think aha kompany he is the answer.
There’s no way Levy pays for brand name cereals...

Seriously he has to be given to the end of next season and backed to choose his own players within certain financial constraints.

Would like to see a lot of youngsters loaned out the likes of walcott, Lyons-Foster, Cirkin,Marsh and maybe even Sessegnon and Parrot.

Could then be developing a good core for the next 5 years.

Think a buy and loan back for jade jones would be a very smart move.

The bielsa method. If we didn't have the new stadium Poch would be still good for our ambition and budget. The snew stadium and Mourinho is first in line of many world class managers but I think the rest of Levy-designed structures like the scouting, and sponsorships , fitness and youth sub systems need to catch up. It's like we've put in a new 6th gear but haven't upgraded the engine, cooling and suspension... It will take time for everything to click at a new level.
His methods were based on running players into the ground. Its possibly why, in my view, Dembele was crocked early, Kane is repeatedly getting injured, our dutch CBs look finished was before they should be, etc
