It's definitely not guessing which way a penalty taker is going to go. A little bit similar to Lloris in that sense so probably good to have a kindred spirit in there...
I don't know if I was trying to see the worst as I wanted N'Dombele to come on and look a new player but yeah, he did seem a little unsure of what to do at times, particularly in a one on one situation.
Although he's shown glimpses here and there you'd definitely predict that we wouldn't pick him up permanent considering the fee but mainly more just with him not having a defined role...

I get the impression the scouting department look at who other clubs are linked with in the media and then go after them.
I know it is a loan with a view to a 45m transfer fee but i dont get to see how he will improve to be worth that much.
Luis at benefica is the midfielder we should have gone for.

Yeah I agree. Think it was the Southampton game he came on and was really good in. Did little today but I wouldn’t judge him yet. Much, much too soon. Different type of player but I remember Sandro looking very ordinary in his first few games and really developed when he got to grips with the league and moving to England. This lad deserves the same opportunity.

I couldn’t remember who it was against but yeah he really impressed in that game, tricks came off and had a way of keeping the ball under pressure.

The scouting department had nothing to do with this one.
He has the same agent as Mourinho - Jorge Mendes. He wasn't getting a game at Benfica so Mendes offered him to Spurs on loan. Mourinho is doing a favour to his mate to put him in the shop window. When Mourinho was in charge at Real, Mourinho got Mendes his own office at Real's training ground

Not much of a shop window though - 61 PL minutes so far! (Vs 216 back in Portugal). Seems a very odd signing so far to me.

His best moments have indeed come when playing through the middle. I think he has potential, but likely we won't see it unless he's played in the areas that suit him best.

I agree, the kid is only 21 and only a handful of games for us, some harsh judging by some.
Some very harsh reaction on here! Lots of people were poor against Utd, and Gedson has shown glimpses of ability before.
I'm not really sure what his best position is - perhaps one of the wide midfielders in a 4-3-3. However whilst we're playing 2 in CM and with GLC ahead of him, he's not going to get many starts as you can't pair GLC and Gedson together.
Mourinho's biggest area to solve this summer is defensively, and with Rose and Vertonghen leaving, we'll be short on numbers at the back too. However he also needs to sort of some balance in midfield as we have a weird mix of midfielders and its not obvious (to me at least) who complements who and what the pairings are. Sissoko, Winks, GLC, Gedson, Ndombele,....feels like we need to shed a couple and bring in a DM, or go 4-3-3 (as well as signing a DM)
