I hated it, great game but spent my whole life going through it, you can't kill the alien and the ending is crap. No in seriousness its abit of a strange game, its a great game in terms of play etc but with no real opportunity to kill the alien you just get to the end and effectively die.

I'm still playing it on and off, trying to hit all the achievements, I've been through it 4 times.

There are some scripted bits and objectives and NPC's are pretty standard but because of the way the Alien AI works each play through is different, I've had sections be absolute bastards and kill me over and over again on one go only to breeze through them unmolested on another.

I've got a save at a certain point where the Alien isn't around and I like to just explore, there are some lovely little touches and Easter eggs.

I bought it a while ago and haven't got around to playing it yet.

I am playing Control at the moment. It is quite good.

Yeh the roam about's are good and the setting is stunning. The gap between save points could be annoying and the acting/voicing was shoddy.

I felt the game was almost a 10/10

I finished Hollow Knight tonight (absolutely brilliant game, can't wait for Silksong), and started Celeste. Celeste is good fun so far. Been picking up a few games on great deals on the eshop lately too - Hyper Light Drifter up next, then Transistor, Dead Cells and Feudal Alloy.

I think I got lost on this one and gave up? Sunk hours and hours into it.. Actually maybe I got to the final boss and couldn't beat it?

The special abilities are fantastic though and you feel really strong for a little character. Flying through the air across the screen was super fun. From memory i had unlocked pretty much all upgrades.

Might need to revisit it.

Edit: are those additional games off steam or on the switch?

I downloaded XCOM on the PC and told my 14 year old that him and his friends can have a break from counter striker for an hour a day lol.

Now I haven't gamed seriously since 2005 (birth of 14yo) and boy have I missed it.

Any recommendations? I've only got a 2gb Graphics card so nothing crazy and new please.

Yeah, there's a lot of backtracking towards the end, lots of finding secret hidden stuff and such to level up, but if you've leveled up all the way (basically if you have the unbreakable strength/heart charms and the nail upgraded to the max, I reckon you'll be able to beat all the bosses). I just beat the Hollow Knight boss and considered myself done with it (but only got like 90% completion), as the credits came and such, but you can upgrade your dreamnail to have 1800 essence, and then get a "awoken dreamnail" from The Seer, use it on the corpse down in the Abyss and get access to White Palace and the final final boss The Radiance (well, there's actually a dream world even after that where you can beat "Absolute Radiance", haha). I just didn't care to grind on any more for that (collecting all the essence needed would take a long ass time), felt like I was done with the game. :)

All those other games are Switch titles as well, yeah! :)

Hollow Knight is for PC as well. Shouldn't be too hard on your graphics card. It's excellent. :)
