Tottenham Hotspur Karen Club....what do they do?

I can't find the Season Ticket thread, apologies for putting this in here:

I must have missed the communication about ST instalment coming out of accounts as normal? Did the club communicate that this would be the case? And if so, what is the procedure if the season doesn't complete?

Last I heard it was being deferred?
Unless you’re a Saudi Sportswashing Machine fan?!
If not complete I’d except the missed games to be given as a credit against next years ticket...

Thanks for your response, I pay mine in instalments via V12 Finance, I checked my account this morning and they'd taken the next instalment out! Wasn't sure if they'd sent any correspondence on it previously.

V12 will obviously be taking the remainder of what is owed to them as the agreenent is already in place to pay. The club will issue either a refund for the games not completed or credit it on next seasons ticket

Club don’t have to offer any refunds
I believe it’s in their terms like most clubs

Thanks Billy, I thought this might be the case. Happy for it to be credited to next season but wasn't sure if I'd missed communication and the requirement to action anything from my side.

Should probably add that was opinion rather than fact mate. Don't think the club have announced anything yet

I think they will store it as 'credit' to be used either against next years' ST or to pay for match tickets if people with an ST this year decide not to renew.
I don’t
I think you will get a club shop voucher and a key ring or something similar unless they can get an insurance pay off

The cynic in me cries "what a bunch of petty little sanctimonious point-scorer's."

They know the club are receiving flak in the media, rightly or wrongly. Feels like a total PR stunt.

Possible. But no one forced the club into that position.

Are the Trust now not supposed to not contribute, because it might be perceived as point-scoring, because the club are blatantly not doing so by comparison? Come on, that's a bit unreasonable.

The Trust are doing a good thing - I think on its own merits first and foremost.

I've yet to see the Tottenham Hotspur Neighbourhood Watch Group do anything for reasons other than to make themselves try to be relevant.

Really don’t see what people’s problem is with the trust. I mean, short of just agreeing with every single decision that ENIC make I’m not sure what people expect from them. ENIC have done great things for the club but just because a few on here worship them I don’t know why they expect everyone else to have the same uniform view of them. Seems people are offended by their existence let alone the the messages they convey. Like it or not, the furlough scheme decision has upset people, many among our own fan base but you wouldn’t know that reading the threads on this forum you would think we win every trophy every year and are the best run club in the history of football and we never make any mistakes.

I just struggle to see how anything they say or do impacts anyone’s life. They help fans out when travelling abroad for example. Is there some overreach at times? Of course there is but do you really think they are diverting Levy’s attention away from the day to day running of the club? Like he is sitting there spending hours thinking up responses and furiously hacking away at his computer.

A few bits taken from the mission statement on their website.

“We aim to ensure fans’ voices are heard at Club and national level.”

Have you ever heard an opinion from a football fan worth hearing? I can guarantee you that Dan Levy certainly never has.

“Our main areas of work at THFC and nationally are ticket pricing, fixture scheduling, policing and safety, and governance. Our remit extends to all off-field matters.”

Ticket pricing is a business decision, you don’t have to be a customer, leave the product on the shelf if you don’t think it offers value for money.

Fixture scheduling is determined by TV companies because that’s where the money comes from to pay the high fees and salaries for the players we want our clubs to own.

Policing and safety are better dealt with by Police and Safety Professionals, aligned with existing laws on health and safety at public events. Anecdotes heard in the pub don’t have any value here.

Considering their own remit they spend a lot of time bleating about on-field matters.

By design it’s an amateur operation, amateurism has no place in elite business.

I have a lot of thoughts on Tesla and Apple, but don’t think for a second my ideas are worthy of attention from Musk or Cook.

Then let them get on with it if they are as harmless as you say they are.

It’s not really an apt comparison between us and Tesla or Apple. We are consumers just like people who buy iPhones are but football clubs’ customer bases are somewhat limited. If Spurs fans are unhappy with the ownership or the club whether that is with the quality of the product on the pitch or with how the club is run, they can vote with their feet and stop attending matches. This is what typically gets managers the sack, the loss of revenue from the reduced gate receipts, less fans means less income from programmes, food and drink and merchandising. It’s not like the club can attract fans of other clubs to come and support Spurs so the club does need its supporters more than Apple needs their customers in that sense.

As much as you may want to compare Spurs and Tesla and try to argue they are the same, they are not. Football clubs are still community institutions as much as they are businesses. Why else would the club continue to do good work helping schools and local hospitals for example?
