Hugo Lloris

He had his I'm going to burst into tears at any moment today face on. He did manage to make a couple of decent saves, but what is with all the limp punches/ I will say this though, he is no leader.

Personally i have never seen the sense of having a keeper as capt on the field, and as you say he is no leader. I still think eyes will be out from our scouts on another keeper this summer. Poor decision again by not coming out for the ball on their first goal.

Yes, if Lloris is not sprinting out, he tends to be slowly falling backwards, his momentum is always on his heels as he falls back and tries to claw at the ball.
For that goal yesterday, he was 5 yards out, then took a couple of paces back as the ball came in and landed on the 6 yard line.

Even if Lloris remains our GK, I wonder whether Mourinho will continue to give him the captain’s armband.

Although I guess he’s perhaps content that Kane can still show leadership without being burdened with the additional responsibility of captaincy.

The flapping at crosses is worrying. Opposition coaches will spot it for sure. Every time we concede a corner I'm back to worrying like in the Redknapp, Sherwood, AVB days.

Wasn’t so long ago that teams would mark Lloris on their attacking corners and attempt to crowd him. Teams will try to do what they can to unsettle the opposition keeper, it’s up to our defenders and Lloris to hold their own, be dominant, and deal with it.

Villa had a lot of corners (10+ I believe) and the goal came from Toby allowing himself to be bullied.

Hugo was a bit line stuck in the Villa game, imo he should have come for the ball that caused the first goal, the only defense was apparently there was a lot of wind in the game and perhaps he felt it was too difficult to get the flight right and safer to sit on line (in which case he should have communicated better to Toby to clear decisively).

Possible, but really low on priority list (Jose doesn't require a specific sweeper/play out of back type of keeper)

If someone is available, sure, but DM, FBs, backup striker, even CB higher on list

I agree its down the list of priority's, i was looking at someone who is still young who will challenge him. However i accept that may be hard to find. Not sure a CB is a priority either though.
