Christian Eriksen

Sad the way one ill-advised comment about how he wants a new challenge will colour the way he is remembered.
Thanks for the memories and good luck at Inter.

It's not just that. It's his performances over the last few months. To be fair, personally, I thought he was still putting it in early on but was badly off form. The Olympiacos game away convinced me because he was absolutely awful for 75 minutes. Played like I would have done. But to his credit he kept showing for the ball and did get better as the game went on.

However, I was at the Liverpool game a few weeks ago and I don't often say "he's not putting it in" but Eriksen visibly wasn't putting it in. It was unprofessional.

It's sad because I loved watching the fella. My favourite game watching him was the 4-0 up at Stoke in the year Leicester won the league. He dropped into midfield and absolutely ran the show. He probably had better and more important games but that one sticks in the memory. Such a talent and everything you want in a player with the ball at his feet. I'm feeling sore now that he's left and that he left in this way but I know I wish him well and I really hope he goes on to have success wherever he goes.

I agree that he hasn't been the same player for at least 6 months. I don't know if that is down to form, not putting in the effort (still seemed to cover the same amount of ground) or something else, but he never seemed to cause any disruption etc. I blame the managers for playing him when he was playing so poor and they knew he was leaving.
If he hadn't made those comments and it was just his performances, I doubt he would be seen in such bad light.

So you're suggesting we should get Bale back? Because he is already playing with all those others mentioned.

And with Kane, Son and Eriksen at their best, Alli was sensational. Throw a peak Bale into the mix and we'd be unstoppable going forward.

Sadly, Bale is past his best and Eriksen has a job to do to find his best form again I fear.

I think all the players you named there have been more consistent (in their best runs) than Dele

Re Bale, I'd suggest you look at him again, still a monster player, the fact that Zidane treats him like brick and plays him randomly and he can still turn up and win games for Madrid is amazing. Maybe he isn't 24 anymore but he's a level above any player we have in the squad by some distance.

Re Eriksen, I think he will do fine in Italy, a little mental reset, more time and space and a decent defensive player next to him, with two forwards to aim at, will be good for Inter.

Inter manager Antonio Conte could start newest recruit Christian Eriksen in tonight’s Coppa Italia quarter final match at home to Fiorentina according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere della Sera.

Eriksen completed a reported €20 million transfer from Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur to Inter yesterday afternoon and could be given his first chance to impress Inter fans tonight against La Viola.

If Conte does not start Eriksen, the 27-year-old Danish international should at least be on the substitutes bench and he could therefore make a substitute appearance.
