Obvs it's never as clear cut as this, but I can't help thinking that if Levy had pulled his finger out when Kane's injury was confirmed, even if just to get sold talks going with other clubs, then we might be ahead of the game here.
He hasn't, to the best of my knowledge, and now United and Chelsea are both in the same boat.

Never stopped them before! They've had the ban lifted and you can bet that Roman wants to flex his financial muscles again, regardless of how crucial the player might be.
Wouldn't be the first time they've bought more in than they realistically need, or buy players in favour of giving the youth a chance. This view that Chelsea have blooded the youth is a myth - it was largely forced upon them by the ban so they had little choice.
