For me, the most impressive part of the Dier sub was that he made it clear the mistake had been his and not the player. He went out of his way to protect the player. Good work!

yes that was unexpected and very unmourinho like. Certainly in his Utd days.

if he mixes up this new media persona with his old desire to seek a siege mentality squad hell bent on winning then I’m hoping we can benefit big time.

course the real test will be when we lose, or have consecutive bad results.

then we shall see if Jose really has changed or is attempting to hoodwink the beloved spurs faithful :p

Well I won’t hold my breath BUT am moving onwards as we must, believing where I can without letting my natural, semi-naive optimism flood the gates!!!! Side-note...I think Rose caused us a lot of problems tonight, and firmly believe Davies will be the LB for forseeable future.

it was hard to differentiate between different types of poop in that first 30 mins, but yeah, Rose was the most curly, and had the most steam wafting off the top!

obvs, with Davies being injured and maybe Jan not fully fit, Rose was the answer...

the question must’ve been who can be the turdiest turd in the turd factory?

jury as ever will be out on Jose, he’s a proud self confident man, yet he seems to have realised he needs to project a different image, we can all change, but then revert to previous bad habits...

just have to wait and see and hope we keep winning and building badly needed confidence.

Jose will be wondering what the hell have i got myself into... the peaceful one won't be for long

I typed that at 0-2 and went to bed

Woke up and I see the final scoreline-and early subs ! That's what I like about Jose, he's decisive. And seeing a midfield of winks and eriksen, wow

Even bigger wow for me is Aurier playing well ! Sans brainfarts and getting too emotional, tres bien !

Lovely way to start the day

Blimey, that was an awful drive back home with the double whammy of the M25 and the M4 being shut! Great game eventually... crowd and atmosphere built from the first goal onwards... Dele was awesome... he had got his mojo back big time!!!

He really is giving the players alot of breathing room to get their mojo back, whilst also creating lots of ready made reasons for things not be perfect. I like it.
Even the comment about considering moving Dier to CB. To Dier they says he is still important. To Toby and Sanchez it says, you need to keep performing - you were at risk too.

You can feel the early seeds of the siege mentality building. It's all about the team as a whole. Fall together, stand together.

I keep seeing summaries mention the “Meriah howler” but ignore the almost identical “Winks howler with a side of Kane slow reaction and Toby not bothering to track” that led to their second.

Look at Allis reaction when asked about the sub, he knows Jose isnt fudging around or cares about auras

I heard it slightly differently. Definitely didn't blame Dier or say that he had a particularly bad game, but I'm not sure he blamed himself.

The players didn't perform, part of that is on Mourinho, but he's still very new to this group of players and the problems we've all seen for a while now. I don't think there was anything wrong with the starting line-up, but the way we played wasn't up to scratch. Don't get me wrong, I thought he handled it well and I'm glad Dier wasn't blamed. Starting games in this way needs to be sorted out though.

I think that the sub was as much about sending a message to the players (and fans) as much as it was about tactics or personnel.

Recall that Acimovic miss all too well, seemed to characterise our luck - or the quality of the players we had- under Glenn at that time.
