The NFL Thread

I didn’t get the feeling they were anything special personally, I was impressed with Baldwin and Wagner but mostly it felt like a training game as the raiders couldn’t move the ball. It felt like it was over at the end of the first quarter.
We. Are not what we were BUT Pete Carroll I liken to Poch...he doesn't need ready made stars, he can get a tune out of all kinds of waifs, strays and lowly draft picks just gotta have the right attitude and buy into the philosophy (see just like Poch:))..

Think we'll make a run for the play-offs.

Probably, gonna be a lot of teams not much better than .500 in the NFC.

I've lived here for 20 + years and these so-called Patriotic Americans are wacko. Their President can't even draw the flag correctly, insults Prisoners of War (John McCain), dodged the draft FIVE TIMES, cuts benefits for veterans, but when an African American athlete takes a knee (and loses his career) for the anthem to protest the disproportionate use of lethal violence against people of colour they throw a hissy fit.

i went on holiday to nyc a month ago (1st time in usa), and it really did feel like a different place (i live in london fwiw). Although the language is the same between the uk and usa, i would definitely say a lot of european countries feel more similar in terms of culture.

americans really do come off as a patriot bunch, probably the most patriot country in "the west", and you can understand why the immigration issue is so big there, and the kappernick kneel-gate. The number of flags out on display symbolises this imo. they were literally everywhere including on office buildings and homes.

on another note, i got to watch an NY jets game at the metlife stadium! not really a big follower of the nfl, but a great event nonetheless, and funny to see that the most creative of chants was limited to "J, E, T, S, jets jets jets!" to which the dolphins fans replied "J, E, T, S, suck suck suck!" :D

Imaginative chants are not part of the American sports tradition. I remember an an NBA game where the central scoreboard above the court was "leading" the chants. The scoreboard showed "shout, shout, shout", the crowd shouted
"shout, shout, shout".

One unusual one is "toast, toast, toast" while they throw loads of slices of toast onto the pitch (U Penn college football).

Plenty of that nonsense at Wembley today, it’s easy to ignore though, I know I’m not the target demographic, it’s for the kids.

Really good game, crazy decision by the Titans at the end imo.

I like American sports (well, NBA and NFL, I have no idea about baseball) and I'm quite pleased to see the Rams doing so well this season. I like them after watching a documentary (Netflix or Amazon, can't remember) that followed them the season they moved back to LA from St Louis.

defence wins championships

it's petty, but I'm glad to see the McVay circle jerk interrupted, fair play to him admitting he was out coached

Don't forget NFL Ladies either.

Wonder if Levy is going to get one of these LFL Europe teams to base themselves at new WHL?!

I’m not the commissioner, will reply to the latest email saying you are not getting them.

If you sign into yahoo fantasy can you see the league?

i signed in and there are no leagues I'm signed up for, very odd, looks like I need to be invited again.
