Serge Aurier

We really need him to come good at last and be the player we thought we were getting ie a Kyle Walker replacement.

Right back is a bloody mess at the moment. If Serge could finally settle and perform as required then the whole situation suddenly becomes a damn sight clearer.

Foyth is still young, learning and not quite good enough but I’d play him at RB over Trippier any day of the week if Aurier isn’t fit.

Not sure how I feel about Foyth at RB. I still see him as a central defender really.

I’d rather see Serge smashing it, KWP get more game time to gain consistency - which would let poor Trips be free to move on. (Or come back and challenge!)
Saves the hassle of a transfer in as well!

I think we'd all rather see Brad Friedel at right back, than Trips.

But buying Aurier on the cheap was not a good idea. He is error prone and injury prone and rash-lunge prone.

We should have spent REAL money and got a REAL player, not this guy. We saved £10m and wasted £20m.

I'll agree with the injury-prone, but if a player doesn't get a run of games to settle in, there's bound to be inconsistency and errors.

I think we should hold judgment until he gets that run of games.

Who was the £30m+ right-back we should/could have got?

This should have been a big season for him, however I feel tinkling around at the AC and breaking hands on coffee tables won’t have been the best rest and recuperation for flying out of the blocks this coming season...

Not to mention it may also impact his Uno game. That'll be the biggest blow imho.

Well i for one hope he gets a run of games this season, its hard to judge him as he has been in and out with injurys.

Anyway, Serge "The Surge" Aurier is always injured

Like Lamela and Wanyama, nice guy, nice football, but injured. Get rid.

I have so much time for a combo breaker when it comes to brick puns, but it's definitely just because I really want to be part of the "fun" crowd that are really good at brick puns...

But Aurier wise, I really don't have a fudging clue, in the CL at times he's been a tank offensively and defensively, but then you just know there's an off moment just around the corner which makes game management particularly difficult when there's so much at stake. Can we bring Charlie back? Didn't have that much pace anyway so should still be good to go

That, and also, he was pretty good in the games he played last season. Some still can't see past him conceding a penalty in one of the first games.

Actually some cannot see past his gaffe-a-game record... Not to mention the inability to get behind the full back, consistently put in a decent cross or defend in the box without looking like giving away a penalty every time.

You're exactly what I'm talking about, because all of that is just rubbish.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess... but all I can say is that we tried to get rid last season, Poch constantly preferred a Trippier (in poor form) - and Foyth - even when Aurier was fit and by all accounts we are open to offers this time round as well.

Guess time will tell...

Tried to get rid? WTF are you talking about? Aurier had a few injuries, but in the games he featured, he was solid and generally well above average.
