Vincent Janssen

Think it comes down to the fact Poch would rather have attacking midfielders playing regularly that can also play up top, rather than "backup strikers" getting rusty / unhappy and meaning new personnel when they come in the team. Remember, it was only really due to desperation that Llorente got matches.

I would suggest it had to do with however hard he worked he was a striker that just seemed bereft of confidence in front of goal, penalties notwithstanding

He had confidence and looked a player, I can totally see why the scouts thought he would be a good signing.

I wish him well for the future
Really wish we’d have got the Jansen from those clips!

I can only assume it was a confidence shift or he reacted badly to the pressure of joining us.

I don’t buy ‘he only scored in the Dutch league’ argument. I’ve seen him play quite a few games for Holland up front during his period with us and he’s put in decent performances for them. I think it’s more to do with being a backup that he’s struggled with, he didn’t look particularly lean/fit aswell so it was probably hard for him to adapt from being the main man and scoring goals for fun to being backup. He’s still quite young, and I back him to get his career back on track. Good luck to him....

Some rumours that he might be off to Monterrey for $8m, so about £6m. I'm sure its not exactly the sort of league which he would have wanted to move to, however at 25 years old he could still get a move back to a decent league (probably weak-ish team) if he could have a couple decent seasons in Mexico. Getting rid of him at all would be a result for us, let alone for £6m

I think you mean Everton. He should’ve buried it, but it was also a great save by Skelenburg.
He does mean Palace. I was at that one.

He got put through and completely spooned it. No save was required. He'd played quite well as I recall, but then there was that and we all thought of poor old Bobby Soldado.

But that was t his first game.
It was Everton where he played his first game, plays very well and was unlucky form a freak save from their keeper

Nope, it was at home, Dele flicked the ball over to put him through 1v1 and he tried to lift it from 20 yards or so. Completely miss timed it and sent it wide. Might not have been Palace but it was not a save.
