Troy Parrott

Striker rising to prominence from youth team
People been arguing for his inclusion for a while now in spite of his age

Words that could be applied to Troy Parrott now, or Harry Kane back in the day.

Now Pochettino has chosen not to release Parrott for the Under 19s Irish team, instead wanting him to take part in pre season training with the club. This would add further weight to the thought that Parrott has a big future ahead of him at the club. I think this season is his breakthrough season. I think he deserves his own thread.

So how big do people think Parrott will be for us?

Fixed

True about Terry Dixon, and I know other youth prospects have come and go like Lee Barnard but Pochettino appears to be treating Parrott as if he is expecting big things of him. Only time will tell.

I’d be concerned going into the new season with a 17 year old and back up to Harry.

Not just for the team, but also for the damage that level of expectation could cause Troy’s development.

We’ve got Son too.

I like it, the squad needs an injection of hunger and youthful exuberance.

Last season we suffered from complacency imo.

I think we really suffered from World Cups and other accumulated lack of rest type issues, causing us to have more injuries, loss of form, and lack of rotation than ever before.

All part of the same thing imo, wasting effort in Micky mouse football suggests a lack of focus.

Look at Lamela, Argentina would have been guaranteed the Copa America had they had him, but he declared himself unavailable to focus on being ready for August.
