Dani Ceballos

Great if we get Ceballos, though if I were him and 22 years old, at Real, Spanish international, getting some game time then I'd not be desperate to move to Spurs unless ZZ said that I wouldnt be playing at all...

He's not actually very good though is he.

It's a bit like getting excited about Luke Chadwick or Keith Gillespie because United had recently produced Giggs, Scholes and Beckham

Apparently we are very close to this one going through after Poch spoke with him on the phone. Obviously it could all be smoke an mirrors for the Lo-Celso deal although if Eriksen leaves then both could still come in.

There was talk a couple of days back that the player wanted a season long loan, but this doesn't sound like something that Poch would want unless there was a purchase clause (apparently we didn't go for Tielemens in January as there was no loan to buy clause).

Madrid don't do these deals without buy-back clauses, so they definitely aren't win-win

He's just go flaky Arsenal player written all over him. We need to hold out for Isco in the fire sale.

The whole 'wants to stay at Madrid' thing, I wonder how much of that is genuine, and how much is negotiation tactics?

Like Bale - I doubt he really wants to stay at a club where he isnt wanted, but if he digs his heels in he forces them to allow him to leave on his terms (be that the team to join or a juicy pay off).

Otherwise, the other way I see it is that Ceballos really does love Madrid - but wants to play. Zidane isnt supportive of that. He comes to us, plays, in a top side, feels the Poch love, gets the buzz... In a years time who knows if he'll feel the same about Madrid.

I fully expect a buy clause, otherwise I do not know why we would do the deal. And as you say, we turned down Tielemans for the same reason.

I wouldnt be surprised if Madrid had a first refusal clause as well, should we want to sell, but it wont be done unless we ultimately decide what we do with the player.

Im quite excited at the prospect of him coming in, I suspect he could be low-key a top player in our team.

added to this he didn't come through Madrid they bought him from betis where he played around 100 games for 18M. Google is your friend.

Isn't Ceballos more of a Winks style player, whereas Lo Celso is more Eriksen like, particularly in terms of playing position?

He was the player of the just completed under 21 tournament. I thought he was more like Winks but he is actually more creative, and would be a replacement for Eriksen methinks.

I initially thought this was a bad idea and told @nayimfromthehalfwayline the same, but after listening to the views of some well versed pundits/journalist that follow the Spanish league I think it could be a great signing for us.

But we need top top players to move onto the next level...

More top=top and not low key-top, got it! My bad...

You don’t want us to sign a flakey player then mention Isco?

Do you not think that the linking of us with Ceballos and Diaz is looking like Real Madrid offering cash plus player/s for Eriksen and Spurs are putting it out as if we are interested in them in readiness for the RM offer?
