Wan-Bissaka

Because he is one of their best players and they would want at least to have one season with him in the premier league.

Besides in the current market in which top attacking full backs have a premium, added to the fact that he is English, nah, I would be surprised if a deal was done, even more surprised if it a deal was done for £20m.

They have lots of talented youngsters. They have a decent RB in reserve. They have areas that require strengthening. He would be 100% profit.

Its business, not sentiment. And selling him could facilitate them having a stronger squad over all, and a better chance of PL survival.

£20m was purely an example, Ive no idea what a deal could be done at, or how high we might be willing to go.

In which case I will concede that they would sell if they were offered a price they could not refuse, which tends to be situation for most players. As to what that price may be who knows, but I would be both surprised (for us) and disappointed (for them) if he went for £20m

PALACE REJECT WAN-BISSAKA BID

Crystal Palace have rejected a bid of £50m from Manchester Unitedfor Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to Sky sources.

Palace are unhappy with the structure of the bid, which would be an initial £35m plus £15m in add-ons for the 21-year-old right-back.

It is understood Palace would accept a straight £50m bid from United for Wan Bissaka.

Woodward will probably come back with 55m up front plus add ons! I think we could match 50m if offset trippiers sale price but I’m sure united will give him silly wages on top. I expect they will follow this up by paying 80m for Maguire.

£50m offset against Trippier would be £20-25m (if reports are to be believed) which is well worth it IMO.

Question becomes, where would he rather go?

Smart money say us, he is guaranteed to play, under a manager who has the midas touch with fullbacks (this season excepted!), is in London...

And at 20, if you think about it, he would have been about 14 the last time Utd were actually good - how will he see them?

That said, "its Utd", its bright lights and silly money, so I can see a player being into them....

Wan-Bissaka isn't old enough to remember United when they were good. Moyes was their manager when he was a schoolboy.

They won the league 6 or 7 years ago didnt they? So he would have been 13/14 like I said.

My memory isnt great, but even I can remember 6 years back...

I just about remember the Lee Chapman Leeds league winning side or the Dalian Atkinson Villa side that went close around that time, but neither left a big impression. The dying days of Ferguson would surely be similar references for him

Watched 2nd half last night. Reaffirmed my belief that he could become a quality RCB. Not sure I’m seeing enough going forward for a RB in today’s game. For 50m I think you want pretty much the whole package don’t you?

I don't get what people have seen previously for him to become so overrated. He's still young, but very average. Maybe it's because his name has been mentioned on MOTD.

His stats look good

And he has performed well

But he is playing in a very defensive side and he has played around 60 games in total at RB so has scope to improve

I’ve said this loads but wait until you see Aaron’s play next season and compare the two. Aaron’s will be playing in arguably an inferior to side to palace but his passing range and his attacking side is better than AWB
