Transfer Predictions

El Guepardo

Rafael Van Der Vaart
Three players that you think we will sign. Three players that you think will leave.

Will be interesting to see some off the radar names both in terms of coming, and going, predictions.

Let’s see how true those rumours are and if we have any ITK here, other than me (I called the time that Lucas was announced..still waiting for my badge).

I think the situation is a bit different this year - we've got cash to splash, and not that much competition in the market (due to FFP, transfer bans and absence of CL). For that reason I think we are just going to pay straight up and get our #1 obvious targets. So I'll go

Ins: Lo Celso, Ndombele, Sessegnon (plus Aarons)

Outs: Wanyama, Trippier (plus Llorente and Vorm)

The only other issues being if we swap Alder for Andersen, and if we replace Llorente or give Parrot a crack.

I think you can add Eriksen to the 'Outs' after his recent comments. I wonder if his potential £100m + fee will have already been taken into account in our targets, if not then I guess we can expect another big name to add to the incomings.

I'd say the opposite about Eriksen. For me that was a clear sign that neither of the Spanish teams were in for them, and it was a last 'remember me' plea before Madrid finalised Hazard instead.

Eriksen and Hazard are not an either/or situation for Madrid. Totally different players for different jobs.

Its entirely possible they will still go in for Eriksen.

Not now their net spending is over £200m, and they've relatively few sellable assets.

Are you their accountant?

As I read yesterday their net spend over recent years is negligible, and so they could be set for a spree.

Also, its Madrid. They cheat and get away with it, its what they do.

So Id be reluctant to speak in such absolutes myself...

We've seen with the mess PSG have got themselves into that its not easy to circumvent. Though I agree they will make a good attempt at it.

I'd take that.

Parrott is not ready though. He needs a few years more to develop in to a first team squad member.

Just like City, they are too valuable to take down.

If they want to break FFP to have an overhaul they will.

Worst ways they get a slap on the wrist, after the event, and nothing changes.

Any suggestions of who would be good for the Kane-lite role, now Arp has gone to Bayern?
No clue really. I liked Brereton the few times I saw him but I'm not sure if he is up to scratch or not.

I'd not adverse to the plan B, target man type like Llorente. As we saw in the end if we play to Llorente's strengths then it is another string to our bow. And that with Llorente being on the downslope in terms of ...everything really. I don't really like Rondon but Milosevic can be a handfull.

Son, Moura and even Lamela as false 9s are all great options. But I think Llorente showed this season, especially in Europe, the value of being able to call on a specialist CF with a bit of physical presence.

Danish has talked a bit about Brereton in the past too. It seems odd he recently dropped down from Forest to Blackburn though

If Rondon is out of contract I'd be happy to replace Llorente with him - Saudi Sportswashing Machine fans seem to think very highly of him and he wouldn't cost anything which would allow us to focus our budget on more key positions

I'm not gonna take the obvious route and name players that are out of contract.

In: Lo'Celso, Sessegnon, Clarke.
Out: Eriksen, Wanyama, Trippier.

Tried to work it our but too many variables

Eriksen i think will get caught in a game of chicken with Real Madrid, If Madrid can shift players they may come in, If they cant i can see a later deal where they take Eriksen for a few they cant shift (Isco etc)
If Toby stays can see us shifting Rose and Trippier and trying to bed in new full-backs whilst we have settled CBs. If Toby does leave i think we will just replace Trippier but also get an additional left footed CB

N'Dombele and Sessengnon i think / hope will come in, as well as Clarke or Bowen, plus a random young CM
Wanyama, Trippier, Vorm, Llorente, Nkoudou, Janssen all gone
