The fashion thread

the prettiest spice girl
Im not happy about the way young people are dressing.

Went for works drink this evening after work with a few of the young lads at work. Is nice we all get on and we have a laugh at work. But they all turned up not wearing socks.

I told them if they sweat then they will ruin their shoes, they then all 3 of them said they were wearing sock shoes that do not go over the ankle. What is going on? is this the start of some weird cult.

Nice lads we had a few beers after work. Dont like this though, cant tell who is wearings socks and who is not.

So can we assume you wear your stockings under your socks?

They're an affront to humanity.

I got a pair of ankle socks for Xmas or something one year, wore them once and never again. Absolutely horrible to wear! They look stupid too.
You need those "invisible" socks. You can wear them with espadrilles then

They make people who wear them look a little special needs.

One of the guys from work told me with a straight face he was going for the Love Island look. I told him hey if it gets you pussy go for it. In my day you had to be physically fit splash a bit of old spice on and be able to chat a bird up. How times have changed.

After deciding to take early redundancy and winter upon us I thought I would treat myself to a new jacket (below). Just thought it would be a decent thread to see what people are treating themselves to in the fashion stakes? New shoes, jackets, watches etc.

Mate I love fashion, I started a clothes thread years ago but seemed to die out.

My look is kind of the larry david look, trainers jeans and a plain shirt with a jacket over the top. I have found liberty's to be a good place for my style. Went into selfridges when we decided to have a walk round London. Selfridges was ok for me 10 years ago, my son got a load of stuff in there.

I'm currently in bed wearing actually a pair of checked lounge bottoms from the spurs website and a plain t shirt.

Going for a ride in a bit so shall be wearing my cycle gear. Later I will change into trousers and long sleeved black t shirt and watch the tennis with my son, he is a big tennis fan.

Tonight we are going for a roast at the tollgate in upper bedding which is quite literally across the road. I will put on a blazer and wear my loafer shoes.

Making a bit of an effort is important. I love fashion, what would you say your style is?

I like that. Never been one for badges or obvious labels but the jacket is nice.

I'm on the lookout for a new parka. I've had an old Paul Smith one for the best part of 20 years now and I just can't find one I like as much.

Ahhh I could not find this thread, thanks for the merge

Im like you I like to make an effort, I think I am old school to in that I like to make an effort on a Sunday more than other days but like to dress nicely other days too.

For work I have never been a traditional one color suit guy more somthing like this with darker trousers

And for more casual I would wear the jacket I got above, nice paid of jeans and nice pair of black brogues, maybe nice grandad top.

At the moment I'm wearing this jumper https://www.libertylondon.com/uk/long-sleeve-cotton-sweatshirt-000556798.html#pos=10
With a pair of blue Jean's. Just got back from my cycle ride.

I will change this evening for dinner. I change for dinner even if we are just at home. But the place we are going to is literally 60 seconds door to door and we go at least once a fortnight.

Tonight I will wear a blazer with a plain long sleeved top, as it is dinner I wont wear trainers.

I like dressing semi smart even if it is just to meet a friend for coffee.

On a side note and I know this is not strictly fashion, but I start each morning by putting my head into a bowl of water with ice cubes in. It takes down the puffiness of the night sleeping and wakes your skin up. Is funny because I have done this for 30 years since I was on the building sites and I got home all hot and bothered. But I read the other day that apparently fashion models do this instead of botox now. Another way in which I have been a pioneer.

I'm so great me.
