Son Heung-Min

Fierce competitor, emotional, lovable. Unbelievable talent who hope we keep around for a long, long time.

Anyone else find it weird how many people are talking about Son having a particularly good season this year? Seems to me he's been the same for the last 3 seasons - amazing at times, but not consistently so. Indeed, his numbers in PL and CL over the last 3 seasons are remarkably similar (and in fact are actually getting worse based on minutes played!)

18/19
: 16 goals, 7 assists in 2955 mins.
17/18: 16 goals, 6 assists in 2738 mins.
16/17: 15 goals, 6 assists in 2495 mins.

To be clear, I'm not being at all negative towards Sonny - absolutely love him and think he's a great player for us. Just find it weird that he seems to be getting more attention this season. Maybe it's just for his high-profile goals in the CL knockout phase against City, with Kane out?

He covered well for Kane and really kept the show on the road while he was out - as he has done before. I think the weight of those contributions go toward him being quite over rated.

Quality player, Im not arguing that, but as you say he is wildly inconsistent. There are mitigating circumstances but it is something I think he needs to iron out of his game.

That’s still a brilliant achievement for an attacking player to score 15+ goals three years running. Don’t forget he had two mid season international tournaments.

He’s our most important and reliable player after Kane.

Tough watching too, but shows how much it means.

Agreed. I don’t buy this stuff about players not trying or caring. I still can’t acknowledge the importance of the defeat as it’s the only way I can deal with it at the moment. I’ve no doubt every other fan on here is going through similar emotions and dealing with it as best they can.

For the players, the people who actually had some control over the result, I’d say the devastation must be off the charts.
