Stayed off social media, no TV or papers today, I am gutted, hurts bad

Me too. Trying to pretend it didn’t happen and that we just lost a run of the mill game. I’m hoping by the time I actually acknowledge it, the media storm will have died down and it won’t hurt so much.

fudge football and fudge Tottenham. No matter how much you both hurt me, I can’t stop loving you. It’s a severe form of Stockholm Syndrome.

The issues we had tonight, we've had all season. Movement and passing in the final third is not as clinical as it might be.

With no signings for 2 years of whatever, we're in the CL final and have a new stadium. Yes we were one game away from the CL. And we whimpered. Poch has not clocked how to get players set for the big games. But then pool were equally limp.
I think both teams were playing not to lose, rather than going all out to win. And even after we went a goal down, we were still playing that way, given a second goal would have completely deflated us.

What I was expecting was that we would start the way we played the last 20 minutes. That's what being brave is all about and that is the kind of game that has given Lollerpool trouble whenever we played them. But I can understand Poch going conservative. It was his first ever final as a manager. Still though...

Only good thing you can say about all this dissapointment is that when we do eventually win one of the big ones it's going to be a party like no other!

We’ve had a League Cup Final under Poch, so yesterday wasn’t his first as a manager. That was the one when he made the players stay out on the pitch to see the presentation of the cup so they’d remember how bad it felt to lose...

Interesting that on this one he and Kane went down the tunnel when Liverpool lifted it?

I’m always fascinated by Poch’s choices as a leader, how he weigh things up. I’m guessing in this case, the hurt was already there. No need to learn it.

Can only guess it could’ve been due to Mane being miles offside when Origi struck his shot and whether he affected Lloris... Would just be our luck that a UEFA rule change costs us dearly but then gets reversed after being deemed unfair!

Makes sense. Times have changed, to quote the great Bill Shankly: “If a player is not interfering with play or seeking to gain an advantage, then he should be.”

Based on the stress it will be my wake.

Speaking of supporters of other clubs being cnuts, I’ve just received a ton of garbage from a Cheat$ki mate on a WhatsApp group. A lad who was super quiet to the Gooners on the chat after their game. And to be honest it’s made me steaming mad. I get the banter and all that, and I know it’s my personality, but it’s classless (I know, he supports Cheat$i). I did the mature thing and left the WhatsApp group.

Seemingly every dipper I know has had a good gloat today, my friends of an arsenal persuasion have been sympathetic and respectful.
My Goon mates have been quiet - one even sympathetic. For many of us our passion and love for our club runs deep, and to my personality, taking cheap shots the day after a big loss like this is unforgivable.

Also, I only have one mate who is a Chelsea fan, I’ve not heard from him today but he wanted us to win and sent me the simple message of “COYS” at 7:55 yesterday.

Just to clarify, as there seems to be some confusion, the change in the law on handball was not implemented for the CL final. UEFA announced on 29 May that the law changes would not apply to UEFA competitions until 25 June (link).

Secondly, it's worth saying that the main change regarding handball is concerning attackers ie. that goals or goal-scoring opportunities cannot, under the new laws, result from an accidental handball.

This is where you know who the casual fans are. The serious fans usually stop short of taking cheap shots immediately after the game

I said that before, but was instantly dismissed, even after posting the FIFA and UEFA regulations, that state that any new rules, or changes to rules, do not apply to competitions that are still ongoing.

I love Dier but in critical moments the guy has a mistake in him. That Pansy header from the corner not as bad a Sissoko's silly handball but he needs to cut this sort of brick out if he wants to be a serious player for us.
How was Sissoko's handball silly. Mane shot at him from point blank range while he was pointing to Trippier who to mark. It we just unlucky.
