I love Kane and what he represents, but I do sometimes resent the fact he is allowed to walk in to the team after injuries. He shouldn't have started today, and should have known it himself, but of course, insists he is fit. Which he maybe. But his football brain clearly wasn't there today as well. Which is more worrying. Captain hindsight says we should've started the same as the Ajax game.

Where we didn’t get a look in until we went long to Llorente?

The attitude of the players stinks, we only started playing after going 2-0 down, we should have been at them from the off, we played scared against a team built around Jordan fudging Henderson.

The scary thing is that’s exactly how we have played since the second half collapse against Wolves at Wembley, we just rode our luck through most of the games in January in February.

I’m just so fudging tinkled off because I’m 38 and I’ll honestly wager everything I posses we will never get to another European cup/champions league final in my lifetime, it was there for the taking Liverpool were fudging brick and it was just so predictable, I said before ko to the family we would concede within 5 minutes from a self inflicted error, it’s what we do in every big fudging game away from home, we have to at least start these games solid and get to 25-30 minutes at the very least 0-0, you can’t really on bonkers comebacks and late goals cause the luck runs out eventually, as much as I hate to say it because I would never have admitted it and it’s Liverpool but if those fudgers had turned up and played well I could have accepted this more, worse thing now it’s over two months to stew on this.

I love Dier but in critical moments the guy has a mistake in him. That Pansy header from the corner not as bad a Sissoko's silly handball but he needs to cut this sort of brick out if he wants to be a serious player for us.

Dier is fine, but having Dier and Wanyama as 2 of your CMs in your squad isn't. I'd like to see us replace Dembele and also upgrade wanyama. Whether we can afford to do that, as well as upgrading Trippier and adding an attacker, I'm not sure

The funny* thing is, that despite all of the talk beforehand about ridiculous journalism, Liverpool were so bad, that by losing to them, we have actually bottled it.

I sat watching the game with a city fan, his thoughts were the early pen ruined the game but that we were by far the better side, even a couple of scousers said the same to me after the game.
My thoughts, similar the pen ruined it and pool sat back not quite sure what to do, it just didn’t fall for us tonight, I just hope Poch stays and see us through to next season in our new home with some new signings, I’m gutted but proud of the boys. The future is bright

So disappointed, so sad, but at the same time proud. This will take a very long time to process and land for me. The pride will be the lasting feeling though, I just know that to be true.

Well I'm numb after that. My youngest boy (11) was inconsolable after the 2nd goal, and that has deflected my attention from my own disappointment really.

At least we're not dippers, eh? Time for some beers.
My lad is 11 and he’s devastated also . Had to put a brave face on it for him.

I’m gutted we went out with a whimper.

Penalty allowed dippers to sit in and just hoof it long.

Poch got it wrong tonight Kane should have been on bench I was upset seeing him in starting eleven. Massive error.

Trippier is brick and 100 ms for Eriksen I’d bite Madrid’s hand off of true. He’s not been the Eriksen of previous seasons.

Such a shame so many hid tonight.

Dier has been very poor this season. I like him a lot but he needs to step up and be the player we all think he can be. Next season is crucial for him.

That disgusts me.

No way it would have happened the other way around.

Until we start acting like spoiled, entitled clams who can only lose when we are cheated we won’t win it.

And another thing, any one of our players who doesn’t dump the runners up medal in the first bin they find should be sold, don’t celebrate failure.

Agree with all that. We're short of a body though and had Dembele's replacement been signed, Dier might not have come on tonight and/or had more time to come back from injury

We will be there next season just like Liverpool were this season. We are good enough.

fudging joke. Shows Fifa wanted Liverpool to win as they won every decision. Penalty was a fudging joke. Then every 50:50 went against us. Plus we played brick. What’s the point in getting to a CL Final if referee gives the other side a win and our players don’t even turn up. fudging waste of time

So you’re against the loser parade tomorrow down the high road? Currently covered in custard swinging from the chandelier.

For me the Pen ruined the game. It allowed Liverpool to relax. But the real Man of the Match was Van Dyke. Nothing could get past him. He kept Kane quiet and bossed our attack, as a result we couldn’t get anything going.

I am gutted tonight, but consoling myself with the fact that we had a brilliant run, some exciting moments and I got to watch my team play in a CL final. A few years ago i remember jumping for joy when Crouch scored THAT header at City cos I never believed we would play in the CL. We have proved we can do this now - next season will be great. COYS!

Thing is tho. People are getting this wrong. They weren’t bad. They were effective defensively (Mourinho style) after going a goal up so early. They didn’t need to do anything else.

I felt we could have gambled a bit earlier. Nothing was happening through Kane. We should have gone x2 up there to ask questions. When we did eventually go Llorente we creates some openings by going direct.

What is Poch talking about. “We played so well and he is so proud of his players” He is too loyal to some players - Kane should never have started and Dele hooked much earlier. He really can’t read games in match play .
