Shame to lose it like that but we can be proud. Needed a bit of luck with both sides playing brick. Pool have a good defence and we didn’t pull out the top noch finishes that were needed

It’s not about them, it’s about how far under par we have been, that’s why this is so hard to take, it’s a 3/10 Spurs performance.

If you are giving us a 3 then I would give them a 2. It was a turgid match but we were the better of 2 brick teams. They were more under par than us tonight. Maybe they wanted to play that way I don't know. But they offered nothing

Yet they created more - and looked a lot more dangerous

Meh, not all that bothered

Biggest target all season was getting into the top 4 for CL next year... this cup run was a lovely bonus

Am very pleased I flew from Alicante to Gatwick earlier, rather than Alicante to Madrid

Imagine being stuck in Madrid with 50,000 phlegm soaked Scousers.

It's been a great season to be honest. When you think most thought we wouldn't make top 4 with no signings, tired WC players and the stadium move.
Full steam ahead for next season now. No excuses next year, we need to improve

Pool finished 26 points ahead of us in the league and lost once all season.

Man come on, the performance was poor.

City finished 27 points ahead of us and yet we played better in both legs. Pool finished 26 points ahead of us and yet we put in a much much better performance, at their home ground and could have won just a couple of months ago.

People aren't tinkled off with the result as such (though obviously we are), it's the manner of it.

Gutting.

What a bizarre game. Disappointing from us. I doubt we’ll ever have a better chance to win the CL as Liverpool didn’t turn up, but there you go.

I would be really surprised if a top, top team wants Eriksen this summer; yet again, anonymous. As was Dele. As was Kane.

Still, it’s been a blast.

Two poor teams battling out, we're on the losing end. Generous penalty decisive; I think we would have had a better chance if it wasn't for that. They basically didn't have a proper hance, even that second goal wasn't a big chance.

Opportunity missed, but hey, we were in the final and that’s fudging great.
