How much will we spend this summer?

What will be our net spend this summer?

Like most windows in recent memory it will be break even, or close to. We will need to sell before we buy.

Not sure that’s 100% true. With the revenue from the CL and our profits this year then we are in a good position to spend some. Plus I think Levy will appreciate the position that the club is in requires further investment to make the next step.

I think we will surprise a few people

4 years in a row of CL revenue, very clear idea of new stadium costs and revenue streams +likely naming rights over summer.

If Eriksen and Toby go then we will be zero net spend is my guess. Grealish and some young CB.

Obviously we need a 2 midfielders so maybe Gomes fella on loan at Everton

I went 50-75m.

We didnt spend at all last two windows, Poch wants to rebuild (and should certainly get what he wants) so I think we'll need to add to sales to give him what he wants.

And I see no reason why we couldnt comfortably to the tune of 50-75m

I’ve gone for 75-100m I think we’ll go big this summer, even if we sell Eriksen. We have everything in place and Poch has made it clear he wants to mix things up.

net spend of zero twelve years in a row is not the same an average net spend over 12 years. Language matters.

A spend or a loss tended to be evened out the following window. It has always seemed a deliberate aim to have the zero net spend, rather than separate periods of spend and save

but we didnt have zero net spend twelve years in a row - what you said and what you are now saying are two different things.
5/12 we had positive net spend and cumulative net spend was up to 45 M in 15/16 (from starting point 07/08) - over 20M for 5 years.

In no way have we had a zero net spend for 12 years in a row. We have had an average net spend over 12 years of zero (or near enough)

I think we could spend big. But I reckon everything will be linked to whatever happens on naming-rights. If this covers a massive chunk of the stadium spend I think there will be money available, but the question is if this will be spent on wages or transfer fees...
