Christian Eriksen

You don't see the point in having the current Balon D'or holder and four times CL winner in our squad?

He's just had a poor season by his standards but even a slowing Modders would still play half the Premiership off the park with his vision, nous and sheer skill on the ball. Not to mention the aura that a serial winner of big trophies can bring to the table.

I would have him in the squad, at the expense or as part of some deal to see Christian go the other way? No.

He’s 33, he won’t be able to play every game at a higher paced league.

I don't think anyone would want that, but in case Eriksen decides to leave, getting Modric in return would soften the blow. I'm not in any way suggesting that WE should incite such a deal haha..!

Not that way round, no, I'd much prefer the Dane to stay.

But we're potentially talking about a situation where Eriksen wants out and needs to be sold this summer. That may mean horse-trading with RM rather than selling direct to say Arse or Chelsea, in which case Modders coming the other way as part of the deal would work for me.

Would rather the cash

Plus - if Real are going to be signing all the players under the sun they are going to be desperate to off load some as the window shuts.

Could get him then for peanuts if he’s a player we want to add

Exactly that.

I dont see the point in bringing in an expensive and over the hill player to clog up our squad/midfield at a time when we need to be building the next generation team.

Winks is, IMO, Modric incarnate, so why would we need Modric?

This team just made the CL final without Modric (or a player like him), and has been cementing itself in the top 4, I dont see as much of a need for the "experienced old head" as some clearly do. I think this team is growing just fine without it.

Nowhere near his best today, still some moments of class but looks like he's running in custard with lead boots.
If anyone thinks he's off or isn't trying watch him when the goals go in, he's the one getting the ball and team up the pitch for the restart.

Rather we sold Eriksen than let him see out of his contract. He could be even more distracted next year and we won't be able to choose where he goes. Not to mention the cash! We need to resolve this this summer.

This, he was everywhere last night and never stopped working, covering and looking forward.

I wouldn't say everywhere, would still like to k ow what he was thinking for their second goal.
But he wants it, by fudge does he WANT It.
Hopefully three weeks out will make a difference for him.

Lets hope so, IF he hits his best we have a great chance as he will provide chances.

Really hope we can keep him, he's frustrated us at times this season but only because he sets the bar so high. You can never question his effort.

Getting him to extend his contract would really be a sign of intent from the entire club.

I think if Poch stays, then Eriksen will. And vice-versa. As simple as that..

Could not agree more, its not been his best season ( you could say the same for most if not all our players), but he has still manged to have the stats he has had in previous ones.

I heard someplace that Son was seen, after the 1-nil over City (or the palace win) asking Ericksen when he was re-signing and Ericksen said he was going to. Is there any truth to that? I desperately want to keep hold of him.

I’ve seen the clip and I’m not sure it’s as clear as made out

What I would say though is with Hazard going to Madrid and Greizeman to Barca I’m not sure whether they would want him too for the ££

Yeah, it was as they walked off the pitch - although it was more of a ‘I hope so’ answer from Eriksen than anything iirc.

I reckon he’s gone if Real or Barca want him, but I’m not sure they will, in which case I reckon he’ll stay. I love him as a player, but in five odd years of watching him I’m not sure I’ve ever seen him grab a big game by the scruff of the neck. That’s why I think the really big teams won’t be calling this summer.
