We're the Famous Tottenham Hotspur and we're going to Madrid (Travel Thread)

Glenda's Legs

Doubt the allocation will come down to the 120 point level but I'm keeping everything crossed.

Just booked flights to/from Malaga. I have the luxury of being able to travel any day at the moment so out Weds 29th, back Mon 3rd, for £306. Plus about £110 for return trains to Madrid.
Now for the accommodation. Not so worried about Malaga but Madrid, ouch.

Just drink through after the game and get the first train back to Malaga Sunday morning. Catch up sleep on the return.

Yeah will be drinking through the night in Madrid and/or sleeping in a doorway or something

Motorhome/campervan is the best option.(NOW) Either from here or fly to wherever and pick it up.

Travel and accommodation in one, (park where you like) share the driving and costs. And a fridge for the beer;).

Not sure if there should be a thread for this but how are people going to get to Madrid?

Prices are ridiculous but looking at all options but I start a new job on 14th so probably can't take too many days off. Friday only I think and would have to be back by Sunday night.

Do you think flight costs will come down if you risk it and look a couple of days before the game?

Options:
Fly to bilbao and drive to madrid
Ferry from Portsmouth or Plymouth to Spain and drive or train
Euro star to Paris and fly to Madrid
Drive to Madrid from uk
Fly to Madrid from UK - £900 plus!

Anyone got any other decent ideas?

Do you think the club will announce a travel package?

Already no trains from Malaga on the Saturday. I’ve had to book for the Friday. Whilst I have no problem winging it through the Saturday night I’m not sure about doing it two nights running! Would probably get arrested for vagrancy to top it all off.

Flight prices won’t come down. Hotel prices might.
Zeelo are looking at doing a coach trip. They are surveying fans at the moment to gauge interest. I’ll post a link over in Fixtures and Tickets later. A bit of a long slog but might work.

Have a look at flights to Malaga or Valencia and then train to Madrid...

I am keeping an eye on flights from Amsterdam - they were £650 this morning, just took a look and they are £230 now (Saturday morning / Sunday Morning) - Fly to dam on the Friday and home on the sunday.

Flying out at 8.00am from Stansted on Friday, what larks....
Someone on here remarked recently that Spurs have been on an upward curve since the Jol days. Fingers crossed the curve keeps its steady course upwards...and the 100m euros from this year's champions league won't be doing the Club any harm....

Going to wait till ive got a ticket to book travel. I checked a few days ago and the flights were already expensive.

I'd love to go, once in a lifetime and all that.. But I'm afraid if I do then I'll curse the team and I don't think I could handle that.

Thomas Cook 1 Day Trip, £559 from Stansted

Fly out early Saturday, all day in Madrid, coaches to the ground, coaches to the airport after and fly back to Stansted early hours of Sunday

Have you had a look at surrounding towns oon the outskirts of Madrid? Must be places a 1 hour commute that would have a more reasonable price for hotels
