Juan Foyth

Odd, I had added that this doesn't seem to augur well for KWP but it hasn't posted.
We know Poch likes versatility in his players and if in Foyth he has a player in whom he has confidence to be cover for RB then unless KWP is going to get promoted to be one of the two main RBs/RWBs in the squad, he might as well move on, or at least go out on loan. After the event : probably would have been more relevant in the KWP thread.
Interesting that our two best centre backs for a long time also are or have been somewhere between accomplished and excellent full backs. The comparison doesn't end there. I really do see a bit of our Dutchmen in Foyth.

Being able to handle a very much in form Sterling playing "out of position", at least the first time playing there for us, says a lot about his ability to defend on the ground against quick skillful players.

Hope he's given the chance to develop.

Said it before and I will say it again I am not at all convinced on this lad.

To many big mistakes, got a nice touch on him but like walker peters needed a season on loan to learn adult football.

I'm not sure what we should do with this guy. I think that potentially he's a decent CB but he made so many stupid decisions. Today's was the worst

Very, very stupid by him.

But he's a kid.

I'm not quite as tinkled off about him. It's a fact of life that a young player like him, with his bravery on the ball and willingness to play it forwars, is going to make mistakes - and get sent off, too, given how shaky he is defensively.

He is a defender he should not be shaky defensively

Strangely it was his excellent driving run with the ball where he went past 3 players that ended up with his sending off. Loads of potential but still error prone, hopefully he'll improve with experience.

I’ll keep referring people back to Sissoko and the things that were said about him on here and how it took nearly 2 full seasons of football plus coaching to get him where he is now and you lot expect a kid just to work right from the start.

As one of you pointed out on the Sissoko thread we should support all of the players not just our favourites and realise the impact on a players confidence that negatively can cause

Wouldn't it require said players being on this particular Interwebs forum to have an effect, which to our knowledge no one but Rohan Ricketts has ever been?
