The glorious march to CL qualification

Are they not planning to change the format of the Europa league to bring it in line with the Champions League soon? So there won’t be the extra knockout round after the group stage. This is what kills teams in that competition imo. Losing two weeks of midweek rest can’t be underestimated. That combined with being in the league cup Semi finals in January if your English can really screw your season. Need the weeks off.

I believe the plan is to have 3 club competitions all following the same format I.e 8 groups of 4 then onto the round of 16.

This could be a magic weekend with the correct set of results.

If we can begin the weekend with a win we could be all-but confirmed in the Top 4 by Sunday night. A big if, but if United can bounce back with a win (the bigger the better)
Could be looking at
Spurs 36 73 +31 (min)
Chelsea 36 67 +20 (at best)
United 36 67 +14 (min)

An Arsenal defeat at Leicester leaves them 66pts
or draw would leave them 67pts +23

I see that City have got Brighton away on the last day.
Let's see if they can engineer a way to score against their massed defence, or if they slow the game down and chip it at the big striker hiding behind DunkDuffy.

The best bit about all this is that if UTD beat Chelsea on the weekend they will be level on points with them. It will do us well for that to happen I guess.

Still plenty to play for. Nothings decided yet. Still can't believe how we got into this situation

This is probably where I would have expected us to be now. I know we had a 10pts gap at one stage, but with trips to Liverpool and City to come at the time, the liklihood was that gap would probably be down to 4 after those.

Our dropped points at Palace and Southampton have been negated by other clubs recent slumps now. We have all felt the pressure...bar the Top 2

Agree. A few days ago a draw looked the best result, now a United win looks the best outcome now. 2 or 3 goal margin would be ideal

3 points clear in 3rd in the league and Champions League semi finalists? No me neither, absolutely amazing isn’t it?! Such a great feat to be in this position, especially considering the squad basically didn’t have a pre season as the majority were still at the World Cup until the last weekend, then the continual stream of injuries throughout the season.

He has a point though, our collapse to go from 13 points ahead of the pack to just 3 is crazy. The Southampton game had me very very worried too.

And a stadium migration.

And no signings.
