In that case I would recommend my all time favourite sci fi show, Battlestar Galactica [Netflix], not the original one but the 2004 version. If you have not seen it, it is a must watch. It starts slowly, and it is gritty, but as a show it is brilliant
BSG is amazing!!

I was the same about Spock, I didn't think it was a good idea but it was. I think S2 is a lot more Star Trek than the first, some stand alone episodes and more light hearted.

I got through the Expanse in a couple of weeks, well worth going with it, its not going to be the best ever but it is really good sci fi.
Discovery i feel is really patchy. Somethings it all comes together, but I can’t quite work out if it’s by genius or sheer luck!

Not happy with Spock, it in reality that role can never be recast Nimoy was Spock. End of.

Captain Pike however! Feck me, what an addition he’s been to S2!!

Expanse is worth sticking with. S1 didn’t really do it for me, but it showed sticking power and gets really interesting with decent characters coming through.

So I have finally completed GoT for the first time, my response to the different plot threads are:
Yay!
:D

Considering how season 7 ended I am so glad that unlike most of you lot I have not had to wait 2 years for season 8, just 4 more days :D:D:D
I’ve been waiting about 5 years for the next bloody book!!!

Watching the new series of Line of Duty, which I love and I can't help thinking its not as good as the others. Far too much going on, gone all abit holywood and seems like the red herrings are just being chucked in loads to confuse more so than ever
It’s great. Stephen Graham is a fabulous addition.

Lennie James from Walking Dead was great in S1 - proper yiddo too!!!

another Attenborough master class - Our Planet on Netflix. This guys work rate for a 90 year old puts N’Golo Kante to shame!

It’s in Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos too, so is an absolute audio and visual tossfest!

IIRC it was a SyFy production, back when they were still the Sci-Fi channel! A pity the spin-off series weren’t quite of same calibre and I cannot think of anything new on that channel which I’ve watched in many years.

How about 12 Monkeys? I think it is worth giving it a try if you have not already

I have a feeling it will return, there is too much money to be made.

Classic marketing!

I have heard there may be a prequel, but my gut tells me it will not be back, particularly these characters.

What I have garnished from cast interviews is that they have loved played these characters but it is time to move on.

Besides, as much as I will miss this show I think it is great that it ends after 8 excellent seasons, before the law of diminishing returns sets in.

Yes, I say leave them wanting more......Then I think Star Wars, which I've enjoyed immensely. Yes, they are definitely not cerebral masterpieces but I've enjoyed them all the same. Another due later this year I believe.

I can, as you say, see a prequel or some such thing or a film maybe?

With all the insufferable superhero comic rubbish that's have been churned out, I can see the money guys passing on the GoT franchise.

HBO are quite good about walking away - its taken 11 years for them to do a Sopranos film and no the Wire prequel or sequel as of yet.
