I have seen it before but i am going through it again and just finished series 5, not much chance of watching 6 and 7 before Monday so will have to stay away from any writes up.
Just watched seasons 6 and 7 again to refresh the memory, great stuff.

The Yanks tend to have either Alec Baldwin or Morgan Freeman do their nature programs - explains a lot imo.

I started watching GoT about 3 weeks ago and I have just 3 episodes left, totally brilliant

Watching the new series of Line of Duty, which I love and I can't help thinking its not as good as the others. Far too much going on, gone all abit holywood and seems like the red herrings are just being chucked in loads to confuse more so than ever

So I have finally completed GoT for the first time, my response to the different plot threads are:
Yay!
:D

Considering how season 7 ended I am so glad that unlike most of you lot I have not had to wait 2 years for season 8, just 4 more days :D:D:D

If any of you like Sci Fi I really recommend Star Trek:Discovery

You do not have to be into Star Trek to enjoy it but I would suggest it is one of the most enjoyable shows set in space that I have seen.

I’m having a bit of a sci-fi binge lately, catching up with season 2 of Discovery plus s3 of The Expanse and a bit of The Orville for something a tad more lighthearted.

In that case I would recommend my all time favourite sci fi show, Battlestar Galactica [Netflix], not the original one but the 2004 version. If you have not seen it, it is a must watch. It starts slowly, and it is gritty, but as a show it is brilliant

Oh I frakking loved that 2004 space opera too  It was one of the few TV series (alongside The Wire, The Sopranos and Deadwood) that I felt the need to purchase the DVD box set of, back when lending out discs was the main way to introduce people to less mainstream shows.

I see that the first 4 seasons plus mini-series are free with Amazon Prime (here in U.K. at least) so might have to rewatch that at some point, to see whether it’s still as good 15 years on.

I said Netflix, but of course you are right it is on Amazon. It really was a frakking masterpiece of a show.

Enjoying Discovery, its a weird, tangental Star Trek rather than "pure" Star Trek, but I quite like it for that. I even really like Spock and I never expected too.

Watched season 1 of the Expanse, and it was weird. I can see its good, well made, decent story... but it just didnt grab me. Is it worth persevering with?

Actually dont think it has aged well, to be honest.

Was a huge fan when it came out (though it was a bit up and down even then) but caught some episodes last year on TV and it just didnt have the same catch...

Things like The Wire look a little dated, but are still as good as the day they came out. Cant say the same for BSG for me.

I was the same about Spock, I didn't think it was a good idea but it was. I think S2 is a lot more Star Trek than the first, some stand alone episodes and more light hearted.

I got through the Expanse in a couple of weeks, well worth going with it, its not going to be the best ever but it is really good sci fi.

IIRC it was a SyFy production, back when they were still the Sci-Fi channel! A pity the spin-off series weren’t quite of same calibre and I cannot think of anything new on that channel which I’ve watched in many years.

As @r-u-s-x says, The Expanse is well worth persevering with. I also rather enjoyed Altered Carbon, if you’ve not caught that.

I’ve not rewatched The Wire since it was rereleased in widescreen HD but might have a binge as I’m getting a NowTV Entertainment Pass to watch Game of Thrones anyway.

I did see it. Really not a fan of Joel Kinnaman but thought he was good in it (and the Mexican girl was hot!).

I believe they are doing a second series, but (if memory serves) with Anthony Mackie instead of Kinnaman
