Personally, I think Sissoko is a ball winner and positionally disciplined, and Winks is Metronomic.

Winks is the definition of metronomic.
I'd say both are ball winners in a way - Winks in the Carrick/intercepting sense and Sissoko in the more aggressive sense.
And Winks' positioning is excellent. That night he single-handled anchored the midfield for us at the Bernabau - against Modric and Kroos - was incredible.

Compared to the best in his role Winks falls short, but he does play that role well. And he's better defensively than he gets credit for from some of the media.
Sissoko is a very good ball winner. Has improved his positioning and discipline greatly without losing that aggression and ability to charge around when needed/possible.
They're looking more and more like a very good partnership. Different skill sets, both offering different strengths, but without being too poor at anything.

I agree with GB, he was brilliant in that game, and has been in others too. Still falls short compared to the best, but at 23 he can still improve and get more consistent.Well... which is it guys?

He played well in the Madrid game but that doesn't mean he dominated the midfield, we were over run for large spells and played on the counter for the most part

Modric turned 23 during his his first season at Tottenham, so fingers crossed that Winks will improve as much over the next few seasons as the Croatian maestro did at the same age.

I really thought this was the season he put his name on the map, now I think he is made of glass and sadly will be one of those players who only ever plays 15 games a season. Still like the lad but think we cant carry so many injury prone players in a squad.

He will be kept as he doesn't really take up a squad place with qualifying as homegrown.
We only are using 6 out of the 8 homegrown slots in our premier league squad and 5 out of 8 in the Champions League.
