Daniel Levy - Chairman

That sticks in my memory too... fudging tinkled up donkey!

We should have had a pen early on too. Think Anderton got pulled down.

One of Dean Austin’s best games for us too if I recall correctly.

Sickner though. Especially with that horrible clam scoring the winner.

Surely not, you must be mistaken - that arsenal team were a beacon of fair play and decency...

We need a proper song for him. I need help:

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight
We're happy tonight
Walking in a winter wonderland

[Arsenal]____are you listening?
At the Lane Chich is fisting
A beautiful sight
We're happy tonight
Watching in a Levy wonderland

Or something completely different!

There you go, fixed it for you

That's from VillaTalk's 'Spurs' thread, which is so full of barely-contained loathing that it's amusing to read. :p

Yep, it does look nice, doesn't it? :p

But, more to the point, a lot of Levy's fans make the point that we were once behind Villa, and that's true. Certainly I remember the days of finishing behind them while they were gunning for CL, just as we were - with a pretty solid team bursting at the seams with pace and energy. Young and Milner down the wings, Agbonlahor and Carew up front, Gareth Barry in midfield.

Those days, they were ahead of us, and we wondered if we would upend that dynamic. And we did - we got into the CL, we broke ground on the new stadium, we hired Poch, and we never looked back.

And they fell down the table, got relegated, languished in the Championship for season after season, and are now scrabbling to get into the playoffs, while holding up Jack Grealish as their greatest player amidst a team of overpaid Championship has-beens.

It's certainly true that we ended up better than them, in every sense. The stadium is living proof of that, and I've never denied it. Other aspects of how we're run?

Well, that's an argument for another day. But for now, enjoy. :) Do visit VillaTalk's thread - they're so bitter it's amazing, and I do feel sorry for them, languishing in the second-tier dreaming about what might have been. :p
