Cardiff striker's plane goes missing

And also, surely, both clubs had insurance in order that will cover either the fee Cardiff paid or the sell on fee Nantes owe?

Very unlikely.

I'm a lot less valuable than Sala and neither my life insurance nor my key man insurance will pay out on unlicensed air travel.

Nantes owe 7.5M to Bordeaux on the deal and he was sold to Cardiff, think you are letting Cardiff off with passing the issue back, its a terrible thing to happen but they had sold him to Cardiff.

Can't see this avenue going anywhere as I am sure Leicster tried to say Silva wasn't their player because they couldn't register him

I don't think there are any grounds for splitting the deal other than a sporting gesture as a result of extreme circumstances.

Obviously now Cardiff have taken this step, any potential good will is way off the table.
Disgusting.

£15,000,000 is a lot of money to just write off but for fudges sake 2 men died and this just shows that money is more important than people's lives. Cardiff should have out of decency started paying the instalments. What they are trying to do legally or not is just plain and simply disgusting.

I feel so sorry for Sala, his family the pilot and his family and Nantes but have no sympathy for Cardiff whatsoever now.

Cardiff have every right to hold back in my opinion. If you look at the full ins and outs of this the travel was dodgy as hell and whoever booked it and was involved needs to carry the can here.

Loads of info out there on how dodgy this all was.

Easy to take the high ground when you dont have a vested interest in something. If it was your business and were being asked to pay a significant sum of money for a product you never got to use under suspicious circumstances you would likely fight it. Just because the end result was tragic doesn't take away Cardiff's right to do so.....

I agree.

I'd imagine that by the time liability is proven, whichever dodgy fudger organised and is liable for the transport will have put all their assets in their kids' names and declared themselves bankrupt.

So the person who should be footing the bill will get away Scot free.

Another snap shot of Scara tactics! ;-)

All I know is if I ordered a new kitchen and it fell of the lorry on the M25 and never turned up, I wouldn't be paying for it

In this case the kitchen arrived and was installed correctly, then over the weekend the salesman snuck into your house and ferreted it to a motorway services to say goodbye to a forklift truck, it then fell off the lorry on the way back.

Are you blaming the salesman?
