Anyone remember that Bale chap?

Our only hope of bale is that after white hankies and boos from Madrid hes made his money and wants some love and hero worship.
If its money he wants we've no chance.
Should he come here we will win a trophy, I don't doubt it, debatable if it'd be a big one.

I know we got first refusal if he comes back to the UK,but not if he goes to another foreign club...so i wont be surprised if he goes to PSG ,easy league, only a few hard games, pace a lot slower.... and plenty of golf courses lol or if he wants to test himself still an inter or ac milan in Italy.

The day he left I assumed he would end up at Utd should he come back to the UK.

I still think thats true.

Who other than Utd has recent form for blowing stupid money and wages on a big name player to try and prove their status?

Whether we want him or not, they will blow us out of the water on the financials.

It would definitely be short term, but fudge it, I need TP for my bunghole.
He and Modric for two years would elevate us hugely for two years on the pitch.
It would allow us to get some financial benefits from the stadium for two years.
It would raise our profile and make us more attractive in three years time.
It would also add two winners to the squad.
As good as Eriksen is, he hasn't proven he can win anything.
Bale has shown he can do it whilst injury prone and being dumped on by fans and team mates (almost all footballers would have headed for the door ages ago)

So.....
if their wages were paid for two years
and transfer fees paid
all in a direct swap for CE....

you're in?

I would be, yes.
I'm a big Eriksen fan, but that deal makes us a stronger team.
The deal would take away the issue of having to sign replacements at inflated prices if we sold CE.
It would also add an air of excitement and freshening up going into the next season - that in itself can be worth a few points.

I'm with you on that.

Not sure that bringing in a 33 year old for a 27 year old would freshen us up. Injury prone Bale at 30 neither. But would I take Bale? Of course! I think people forget how potent he can be. Kane, Bale, Son would be a sintilating forward line. Mordic feedbacking them would be a dream. But I'd prefer Eriksen - offers more of a goal threat and is that much younger.

Back in reality....how's Grealish doing? :)

More of a goal threat than who, I know you probably mean modric but that's not clear.

Bale adds the goals.
Modric adds the midfield tempo and control we've been lacking all season.
Can you imagine Son, Alli, Bale and Kane being fed by Modric.
Good luck defending that.
