Kyle Walker-Peters

I think he will come good. Just needs to build his experience defending. A loan to a Championship side could be ideal. Or playing with us even, rotating. But Poch needs to bed him in at home initially. Away game after the CL game is always going to be testing second half. KWP and Sanchez were not assured.

Aurier is not much better, but does have more experience. Can now see why Trippier has been first choice. I think Poch needs to choose one of them, and play them every game for a run, and only rotate when they need a rest. Rather than in-out, play them for 5-10 games, and rotate when they are tired or lossing form.

How is KWP going to get better without proper minutes?

Why are we not loaning him out, we saw how it benefitted Walker/Rose - he needs to learn from mistakes and he won’t do it by training alone.

I don't see the huge amount of talent to make a top4 first team player any time soon.
I think in a few years he can reach the Adam Smith or Ryan Fredericks level.

For next season, we keep either him or Aurier as back up RB and we look to sign a RB.

I feel this debate is the same as the one we had with Rose before he went on Loan to Sunderland and came back the player we have now. I see talent in KWP, he is good in tight situations, yesterday he did some nice runs and beat some men, and we know he has a good assist, he was also quite tenacious in some defensive situations. What he seems to be lacking to me is some game nouse and that only comes with experience.

Like I did with Rose I am going to stick my neck out and say he will come good for us and people will have to alter their opinions. How many first team games has he played for us at Right back? 8? 10? you have to give them a chance. He is in a high risk position. Much like Foyth or Sanchez. One mistake and its highlighted.

I would like to see us sell one of Trippier and Aurier and have KWP rotate with them to get the experience. He is better at this point in his career than Fredericks or Smith was. He will get better. Poch has faith in him as he extended the contract.

Going forward I see KWP as a better prospect than the one paced Trippier

He is a kid and still learning but like all our FB's ( apart from Davies)he is not good on the defensive part of the game. I know a lot of fans think we are weak in CM but for me its at FB where we need to improve if we are to progress.

Surprised no-one else is mentioning how painfully slow he looked vs Southampton - was absolutely roasted for two of Saints' breaks - one for Redmond's first chance, and one for the foul that led to JWP's goal.

I'd never noticed him being painfully slow before, so maybe it was a stamina issue instead...? Once can but hope!

Or perhaps the two other players are fast - Redmond is a speed merchant and I suspect Armstrong is as well.

I’m from near Southampton and most of my best mates are Saints fans, and they’ve specifically said in the past that Redmond is slow. And even if he is quick, you’d still hope your FB could get close to matching him!

Oh well, I’d be delighted if I’m mistaken.

His speed on PES 2019 is 86. Explosive power is 90. He is not a slow player. As per KWP, he is no Kyle Walker.
